Another WaPo fact check blows up in its face

You have to hand it to the left. The Washington Post decided to challenge the claim made by President Trump that the cities where all of the violent crime was happening were Democrat-controlled.

True to form the left-leaning newspaper wrote, “It’s not clear how Trump is defining “most dangerous” in this context. So let’s look at two related sets of data compiled by the FBI: most violent crime and most violent crime per capita…The most recent data to that effect is from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report covering the first half of 2019. The cities with the most violent crimes are many of the most populous cities in the country, as you might expect. Those with the highest rates of violent crime are from a range of different states.”

The stats came out as in the chart. In overall terms, 17 of the top 20 cities with violent crime were Democrat-controlled, 2 were independent and 1 Republican.

In terms of per 10,000 inhabitants, 19 out of 20 were Democrat-controlled with one independent run.

Technically a lie, but the correlation is striking.

Prepare to be mesmerized with Jedi mind tricks

This is a very interesting BBC HardTalk interview with China’s Ambassador to the UK, Liu Xiaoming. He not only insists that coronavirus didn’t come from China but suggests that it was merely discovered in Wuhan. In his view, there has been no cover-up and China is as big a victim of the pandemic as any.

We have to hand it to Ambassador Liu for being so polished in his responses. No flinching. No discomfort. Perfect poker face. Exceptional media training. Imagine how many more senior Chinese officials are out there pouring honey into the ears of global politicians.

WaPo hunting for Whoppers

Has the Washington Post taken leave of its senses? Was It a matter of national emergency or interest to report on whether the $2,437.11 hamburger bill personally paid by Trump to host the Clemson Tigers champions at the White House required to be fact checked? Not exactly a light news day. No progress in the shutdown, Brexit failure etc

No, such is the level of Trump Derangement Syndrome that the fabled “Democracy Dies in Darkness” newspaper showed its own incredible pettiness. To give an idea of how insane the reporting was, WaPo fact checked Trump’s claim that there were 1,000 burgers stacked a mile high. “FACT CHECK: at 2 inches each one thousand burgers wouldn’t reach 1 mile high.” Have the editors heard or ‘figure of speech’?

CM must be dreaming? Do the editors at the WaPo honestly think it’s erudite elitist readers will be amazed at the President telling another porkie? Will it become a topic at dinner tables? Overs trivial $2,500 of his own dime. For all of Trump’s faults, this paper clearly shows it has little or no ability to be objective.

Stupidity lives in sunlight.

Usually a mutually exclusive headline in WaPo

Surprising to see such an opinion piece in WaPo. Usually mutually exclusive subject matter with such a title. Admittedly the author said she had incredibly low expectations.
