The Right has no problem with the Left’s free speech

The Left misses the point every time. Conservatives don’t wish for Clementine Ford’s free speech to be curtailed or reined in at all. On the contrary. We think her comments speak for themselves. This comment was far from her worst. She is proud of her “potty mouth” as her Twitter handle boasts.

We find it utterly contemptible that the City of Melbourne’s Lord Mayor Sally Capp didn’t stand up and send a message by cancelling the grant funded by ratepayers. Instead she said it couldn’t be undone and expressed it only as, “deliberately divisive and incredibly unhelpful.

While Ford walked back her comments with a ‘sorry, not sorry‘ tweet, had a man written “honestly, the corona virus isn’t killing women fast enough” the grant would have been rescinded immediately and the individual raked over coals for weeks.

The hypocrisy of the left is astounding. Recall soon to be retiring conservative radio personality Alan Jones who told NZ PM Ardern to “shove a sock down her throat“. We pointed out the sanctimony of brands like Koala who pulled advertising on the grounds that Jones didn’t reflect their values while at the same time had Clem Ford run a mattress campaign for them. It’s not the principle that matters but the side.

So please Clementine, tell us what you think always. Men aren’t triggered by such ridiculous empty rhetoric. They just find it appalling that the people entrusted to administer ratepayer funds can’t summon up the courage to practice the most basic level of governance and send a message that they have standards they hold ALL people to.

ABC tells Australians to “Shut the F*ck Up”

We continue to scoff at the ABC’s leadership. It regularly guarantees us that it has learnt from previous egregious mistakes but turns around and allocates some of its supposedly limited $1bn+ in taxpayer funds to make a sanctimonious video during COVID-19 lockdown using renowned figures of the intolerant left to lecture the audience to “Shut the F*ck Up!” These people are absolutely the last people to be lecturing anyone on anything.

If the ABC and its acolytes want to tell us how invaluable it has been through the bushfires and COVID-19 which justifies more funding to carry out its good work, perhaps it can lead by example and stop producing rubbish like this. It is bad enough using ABC Kids TV to indoctrinate them about white privilege. Or allowing a bunch of radical feminists to openly call for the murder of men. Or provide a platform to a convicted terrorist or happily release a tweet on Q&A which suggested former PM Abbott liked anal sex. Or calling conservative politicians “c@nts.” If the ABC is so tight on funds, why does it continue to misallocate like this?

Guess we’re just not open-minded enough.

On page 94 of the 2017/18 Annual Report, the ABC Staff Engagement Survey showed that less than half were satisfied, down 6 points on the previous survey. This moved the ABC from the median to the bottom quartile when benchmarked with other Australian and New Zealand organisations.

Money is not the problem. Management is.

Charlie’s Angels flops due to misogyny

You have to hand it to the progressive left. Instead of making a film that doesn’t pander to all of this gender equality nonsense so prevalent today, it was easier for the writer and producer Elizabeth Banks to say,

Look, people have to buy tickets to this movie, too. This movie has to make money. If this movie doesn’t make money it reinforces a stereotype in Hollywood that men don’t go see women do action movies.”

OK so it must be the audience’s fault it has flopped. More specifically, just blame men. After all Banks said,

One of the statements this movie makes is that you should probably believe women.

Perhaps the whole point of film making is ensuring the content fits the tastes dictated by the market, not the other way around. Yet the social justice warriors just don’t get it and blame the consumer when things don’t succeed.

Yet what is the obsession inside Hollywood to possess such a lack of creativity as to merely make a remake by substituting men for women or vice versa? Ghostbusters flopped in its feminist remake. So did Oceans 8. Now Charlie’s Angels remake.

Michael McCaffery wrote,

“the social justice geniuses in Hollywood decided this year it would be a good idea to remake two movies that no one wanted remade, Mel Gibson’s What Women Want (2000) and Steve Martin and Michael Caine’s Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1998), except this time with female leads. To the shock of no one with half a brain in their head, What Men Want with Taraji P. Henson, and The Hustle, with Rebel Wilson And Ann Hathaway, resoundingly flopped.

This year’s Book Smart, directed by Olivia Wilde, was little more than a rehash of the 2007 Jonah Hill and Micheal Cera smash-hit Superbad. Replacing Hill and Cera with two teenage girls as the protagonists in the formulaic film did not inspire audiences, as indicated by the film’s anemic domestic box office of $22 million.

Original movies with feminist themes fared no better than their re-engineered woke cinematic sisters. Late Night, a feminist comedy/drama starring Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling, made a paltry $15 million domestically, while the painfully politically correct Charlize Theron vehicle, Long Shot, raked in a flaccid $30 million.

As evidenced by these failures, audiences of both sexes are obviously turned off by Hollywood’s ham-handed attempts at woke preaching and social justice pandering. The movie-going public is keenly aware that these woke films are not about entertainment or even artistic expressions, but rather virtue signaling and posing within the Hollywood bubble.”

Does Hollywood ever reflect on why viewership of the Oscars is down 40% over the last 5 years? It isn’t because they can stream it. It is because it has become nothing but a woke-fest where the world’s biggest hypocrites spew rubbish on climate change, Trump and #metoo while wearing dresses which have three pieces of fabric the size of postage stamps held together by dental floss.

Audiences aren’t stupid and when spoken down to avoid these causes like the plague.

ABC protects one of its own

Good to see the ABC true to form in allocating our tax dollars to look after its own. So if money is so tight, why would it allocate those precious dollars on Clementine Ford who has ‘left’ Nine? What value could she add to convince us to crank up funding? CM wrote a piece on ABC funding and its inefficiency. It’s diabolical.

Ford’s only claim to fame is radical feminist profanity. She has an uncanny ability to call fellow journalists and politicians ‘c*nts’, tweeted “All (non compliant) men must die” among other balanced rhetoric worthy of taxpayer funding.

The ABC has proved that it was already shockingly run under the recent leadership. Now without anyone at the helm it’s open season. To the ABC’s credit, these decisions are made in good faith that the incoming government will grant more funds and any mishaps will he quickly forgotten. Impartiality and ABC are mutually exclusive terms.
