The most spectacular own goal in history

We can’t think of a bigger own goal. The Guardian newspaper is no stranger to woke causes and pushing all the left wing social causes. Slavery is a definite no-no.

So we wonder how the BLM cheerleading rag can explain away its history. The paper’s founder, John Edward Taylor used profits from a cotton plantation that used slaves to establish the paper in 1821.

In 1844, the paper is claimed to have demanded its cotton workers be forced back into work to fund it.

As the US Civil War wager the Manchester Guardian sided with the southern Confederates against President Lincoln, the liberator of slaves.

The only noble thing to do would be to shut the newspaper down in line with the beliefs of all of its journalists. A petition is already up and running. You can sign here.

Naturally, the left will overlook this troubling history. If The Guardian wants to support BLM, tearing down statues and all the other pet causes of the left it should practice what it preaches.

Bushfires more closely linked to white patriarchy than climate crisis

Again and again we have said we feel sorry for the manipulation of poor Greta Thunberg by activist adults. Yes she has a huge platform, but the more things that come out of her mouth the less credible she sounds as we pointed out yesterday with what caused Germans to cut air travel in November.

Her latest stab linking climate to the bushfires in Australia was to post on Twitter, “we still fail to make the connection between the climate crisis and extreme weather events.

Perhaps because there isn’t.

Had her overseers referred her to the very reports they themselves have published (March 2018 report on weather extremes with respect to anthropogenic induced global warming) she would have learnt,

“…There is low confidence in observed trends in small-scale phenomena such as tornadoes and hail because of data inhomogeneities and inadequacies in monitoring systemsin some regions droughts have become less frequent, less intense, or shorter, for example, in central North America and northwestern Australia. There is limited to medium evidence available to assess climate-driven observed changes in the magnitude and frequency of floodslow confidence for the attribution of any detectable changes in tropical cyclone activity to anthropogenic influences..low confidence in projections of changes in extreme winds.. low confidence in projections of changes in monsoonslow confidence in wave height projections…overall low confidence because of inconsistent projections of drought changes…low confidencein projected future changes in dust storms…low confidence in projections of an anthropogenic effect on phenomena such as shallow landslides.”

Low confidence” is mentioned 230 times in the above report. “High confidence” gets talked about 169 times. “Cold” is mentioned 82x. “Hot” 44x. “Cold extreme” 11x and “Hot extreme” 8x. Is this a coincidence?

But of course a spoon fed teenager knows better than the Australian Institute of Criminology which states 85% of bushfires are accidentally, deliberately or suspiciously lit. US Forestry Service data backs up the AIC with its research revealing 90% of fires starting the same way. So unless climate change impacts the moods of arsonists, this is not a strong case.

The ultimate irony is that she actually helped make climate alarmism cool again (no pun intended) because another 9,000 extra time wasters flew into the COP25 summit in Madrid over the 22,000 that attended COP24 in Katowice.

Now that Greta has parroted,

After all, the climate crisis is not just about the environment. It is a crisis of human rights, of justice, and of political will. Colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression have created and fueled it. We need to dismantle them all. Our political leaders can no longer shirk their responsibilities.

perhaps she can get more mileage by tweeting the AIC’s report which finds the most common profile of arsonists is,

“white male, mid-20s, patchy employment record, often above average intelligence, but poor academic achievement and poor social development skills…56% of convicted structural arsonists and 37% of bushfire arsonists in NSW had a prior conviction for a previous offence.

Advertisers’ own goal as Alan Jones’ ratings remain top

So Alan Jones’ 17.1% share (-0.3%) on morning radio should be confirmed with the following month’s data. ABC came in second at 11.5% (+1.6%) according to GfK.

If we go back in time (Jan-Mar 2019 ) survey Jones’ breakfast program rated 15.0% (-2.9%). He has been as high as 19.0% (Jul-Sep 2018) figures. So recent relatives are important in giving a fair appraisal on popularity or any “hit” from Jacinda Ardern commentary.

Anyone that listens to Jones would hardly be surprised by his brand which has kept him #1 for so long.

Till, cue the lefties looking to celebrate plummeting ratings on a quarterly basis in the next survey and the self congratulatory back slapping pointing to their hard work in bullying spineless advertisers to fold to the likes of Mad Fucking Witches (which says something about the marketing departments to follow any campaign led by a group of radical feminists with profanity in the name). Talk about double standards.

Once again corporations are free to choose how they advertise. If Jones’ audience is relatively stable and #1 (presumably the right targets for companies that advertise), what purpose has sanctimoniously folding to a cabal of empty headed lefties who probably don’t even make a meaningful contribution to these brands or listen to Jones? Absolutely none. Complete own goal and sort of hilarious to be given lectures on morality by a bank or a mattress company that promotes the likes of the expletive laden, misandrist bile spewed by Clementine Ford.

To shareholders, the hope is that advertising is spent where its most effective in converting to revenue, not on proving they are answering questions no one of relevance to the business was even asking.

Tesla gagging customers won’t win them JD Power

tesla crash

If I ever bought a product where the dealer tried to slap a gagging order on me I think I would hand the keys back and ask for a full refund.

It shouldn’t come as any surprise that Tesla will have quality teething problems but to suggest that customers sign a “goodwill” agreement is a joke. How much goodwill can there be if Tesla is doing the complete opposite.

The National Highway and Transport Safety Administration (NHTSA) have said that it wasn’t the first time a customer had complained to them aboutthe shut up order. NHTSA has said it is unacceptable behaviour.

Like I keep saying, Tesla is a rookie car company. While they maybe showing success they are still at the very bottom of the learning curve when it comes to making, selling and producing cars.

Another own goal Mr Musk
