True Colours shown by drivers at F-1

Who knew? It seems that when people feel coerced to comply with someone else’s cause they can get sloppy. Who can blame them?

Before the F-1 race in Hungary, the symbolic kneeling to unite behind ending racism was met with fewer drivers willing to take a knee, one forgetting his ‘END RACISM’ t-shirt and arriving late to the stunt. Then Lewis Hamilton’s teammate Valeri Bottas forgot his face mask. Shame! Shame! Shame!

We guess when multi millionaires are asked to do something that is not in their contract they begin to show their true colours. We don’t doubt they want an end to racism. Rather they are sick of being told how they must express it, much less a movement led by one of the biggest hypocrites in sport – Lewis Hamilton. Racism hasn’t held back his career.

Six F-1 drivers take a stand against hypocrisy

Before the Austrian F-1 GP, Max Verstappen, Antonio Giovinazzi, Daniil Kvyat, Carlo Sainz, Charles Leclerc and Kimi Raikkonen chose to stand while 14 other drivers took the knee in support of BLM.

Good to see that some sports stars aren’t prepared to be shamed into political stunts especially one driven (no pun intended) by one of the biggest hypocrites in the paddock, who drives for a manufacturer with a history of slavery.

As we pointed out last week, Aussie driver Daniel Ricciardo perfectly summed up the fear of being cancelled for not speaking up.

Here’s betting all 14 kneelers haven’t even read the reprehensible Marxist manifesto of #BLM movement they knelt for.

We can’t wait for the next woke cause. It will probably be surrounding climate change. Just think of how mothers dropping their kids off to soccer practice in a second hand SUVs will be chastised by these F-1 kneelers as they whiz around tracks in 5mpg race cars. Never mind that they came to the circuit in helicopters after landing at a nearby airport on private jets post spending half the season in coronavirus lockdown on 300ft super yachts with bikini clad supermodels.

F-1 driver Ricciardo proves Hamilton’s hypocrisy

6x World F-1 champion Lewis Hamilton has decided shaming his fellow drivers for not speaking up is a thing. Hamilton wrote on Instagram,

I see those of you who are staying silent, some of you the biggest of stars yet you stay silent in the midst of injustice. Not a sign from anybody in my industry which of course is a white-dominated sport.

Australian F-1 driver Daniel Ricciardo folded to the pressure noting,

I’ve certainly learned a lot the last few weeks…I’ve been reading, I’ve been watching and it’s opened my eyes. I’ve learnt that just because you might not consider yourself a racist or a person of conflict, that’s not enough. You have to speak up, you have to educate yourself and others around you because what I understood is, being silent is part of the problem…I felt a bit… I don’t know if it’s guilty or just like, ‘How can I be so naïve to everything that’s been going on?’. And it’s not only the last few weeks, but it’s been months, it’s been years. It is good that finally more of the world is getting exposed to it and people are behind it. Also, understanding that it’s okay to speak up, you’re not going to be judged, you’re not going to be criticised, and I think because of the volume of everyone getting involved, and all races getting involved, that’s been really powerful.”

Hey Daniel, you hit the nail right on the head. If you don’t speak up, you get judged and criticized by a hypocrite who collects a £40million annual paycheck from a company that has a history of slavery that has invested in him since he was 13 which happens to provide a superior racecar so a highly talented driver who happens to be a person of colour can obliterate his rivals in a “white-dominated sport.”

Lewis Hamilton joins the hypocrisy brigade

Six time F1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton has expressed his support to those toppling statues and dismantling racist symbols around the globe.

Hamilton is paid £40million a year by Mercedes.

According to Bernard P. Bellon, in his book, “Mercedes in Peace and War,” the German manufacturer “prospered on the backs of thousands of concentration camp slave laborers right up to the final days of the Third Reich.

If Hamilton is to be a true steward of woke cancel culture he should resign immediately and make a public statement to the effect that all slaves matter.

Will his ignorant hypocrisy end? It’s cringeworthy behaviour and the truth is racism certainly hasn’t held back his deserved success on the track one bit.

Daft way to run a business

Why the celebration? CM is all for equal opportunity. Just not equal outcome. As CM said at the time of the US soccer team’s whinging over equal pay, if Megan Rapinoe and team make more revenues and broadcasting rights, pay them “more” than their male counterparts, not the same. Who could forget the almost North Korean level chants of “equal pay” during the Women’s World Cup this year?

How is equal pay remotely sensible for the Football Federation Australia’s (FFA) women’s team, the Matildas? Surely within the women’s team, there are proper stars and average players. Will those pay rates be equalised? So that the women’s soccer supremo that scores the most goals and achieves the highest number of tackles gets paid the same as the forward who can’t score and can’t defend to save herself? Who do the fans want to see? Who powers the turnstiles?

Look to other sports. Lewis Hamilton in F1 gets paid multiples more than fellow competitor, Romain Grosjean. Same job, Same conditions. Same everything. Yet, the 6x world champion gets factor fold levels of advertising dollars, hence he also banks that in his contract. Marc Marquez, the 8x world champion in MotoGP gets paid a fortune. Whereas Tito Rabat does not. Maybe because he is leading most of the time that the race coverage is focused at the front, rather than the back. It is all based on performance and TV exposure. Michael Jordan, Shaq, A-Rod and so on. The cream always gets paid what the market will bear. Some might call the $100mn that Ronaldo gets paid at Real Madrid as excessive but the club wouldn’t pay it if his magic didn’t cover the bills.

Ronaldo has 78 million Twitter followers vs his Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos who has a pitiful 16m. Surprise, surprise. Ronaldo makes more. Rapinoe has 899,700 followers. Should she get paid the same as Ronaldo? US men’s soccer team player Landon Donovan has 1.4m followers. Does the USSF see that the box office is sadly still skewed to the men’s game?

Once again, 260m watched the Women’s Soccer World Cup final in 2019. The 2018 men’s World Cup in Russia saw 1.12bn tune in for the final. 4.3x the audience.

To quote the Football Federation of Australia’s annual report of 2018,

Sydney FC had the honour of hosting the Westfield W-League 2018 Grand Final against
Melbourne City FC at Allianz Stadium. In front of a vocal crowd of 6,025.

Six thousand. Rugby Australia CEO Raelene Castle can feel a bit better about the abysmal attendance rugby has at home for the domestic series.

The men’s Melbourne Victory vs Newcastle Jets soccer final in 2018 saw 29,410 fans attend that match. 5x that of the women’s final.

Same for the Matildas. They achieved a peak crowd attendance of 16,829. The men’s Socceroo team saw 77,060 supporters at ANZ Stadium on 15 November 2018. 4.6x more fans watched the men’s national team over the women’s. It is nothing to do with gender. Fans prefer the men’s game. Because of that, sponsors are willing to pay for greater exposure.

This is not to denigrate the Matildas. It is to point out that this constant pandering to “equal pay” is a disastrous way to win over fans. Because if the right talent isn’t paid accordingly, an overseas league will quickly bid them away and hollow out the local market. Attendance will drop and the revenues and sponsorship dollars will dry up with it. Doesn’t require rocket science.

Still, get woke, go broke. The Wallabies are proof is in the pudding for management that focuses on inclusivity and diversity instead of accepting reality of what actually pays the bills – the fans. The financials continue to deteriorate.

By all means, if the Matildas smash the Socceroos for revenue, viewership and broadcasting rights then by all mean pay them more, not the same. Welcome to the Democratic Peoples Republic of Australia in 2019 where virtue signalling means more than merit.

Just watch the mainstream media gush at how progressive the FFA is before realising in years to come just how regressive it eventually becomes for the game and how could it have happened?

Lewis Hamilton’s life had no meaning

One’s heart must bleed for Lewis Hamilton. The soon to be 6x World F1 Champion said,

I want my life to mean something and honestly up until now my life’s had no meaning...” until he went vegan.

CM is finding it hard to reconcile how Lewis believes a life spent at the pinnacle of motorsport, flying around the world on a private jet (which he recently sold), galavanting with bikini-clad supermodels on luxury motor yachts and torturing Pirelli tyres as he gives joy rides in Mercedes AMG sports cars is somehow a life without meaning!? CM is sure many would gladly take his place.

Could his veganism be the problem for turning him into a limp-wristed Extinction Rebellion activist in the making? To think of how his fossil-fueled life has led to a monster carbon footprint…no doubt he has the means to calculate and pay the offsets…

As Jo Nova recently noted,

Meat is a good (as in “the only”) source of Cobalamin, known as vitamin B12, which your body uses to make the myelin sheath on nerves among other things (it’s the insulation on your personal electricity grid). The side effects of not getting enough include:

demyelinisation of peripheral nerves, the spinal cord, cranial nerves and the brain, resulting in nerve damage and neuropsychiatric abnormalities. Neurological symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency include numbness and tingling of the hands and feet, decreased sensation, difficulties walking, loss of bowel and bladder control, memory loss, dementia, depression, general weakness and psychosis. Unless detected and treated early, these symptoms can be irreversible.” — Zeuschner et al 2013″

Lewis understands the laws of small numbers in motor racing. 1/1000th of a second can be the difference between winning and coming second. He should take solace to know that animals make up 13% of the methane in the atmosphere. Methane is 722 parts per billion in the atmosphere. So animals – of which cows, sheep, pigs and chickens make a proportion of the total – are responsible for 0.000009386% of the atmosphere. Good luck beating that Lewis. Not even the Rolex timing device in F1 can measure a race with that small a margin.

Although, Lewis apparently wants to be a part of the solution.

That is the simplest thing to do. Quit the championship today dear boy! Forgo the sixth title even though it is one race from your grasp. That would be the ultimate gesture in finding a solution.

Naturally, he will continue on with his £40m per year Mercedes contract that expires end 2020. Perhaps he wants to beat Michael Schumacher’s record of 7 titles before he truly commits to a solution. Woke!

CM suggests he has a steak and just keeps on racing. F1 is such a boring sport now so having a clown on the grid can only add to its appeal. Alternatively, Lewis,  you could speak to the Mercedes F1 catering team manager to ensure that the fat-cat corporate clients and their mistresses can only dine on vegan offerings inside the entertainment chalet.
