Trudeau before the ethics commissioner again?

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau looks like he will be under fire again from the ethics commissioner for the third time since being in office. This time for members of his family raking in large speaking fees from the WE Charity which the government has been providing some funding to for certain programs.

WE Charity had made the claim that it had “never paid an honorarium” to the PM’s mother, Margaret Trudeau.

CBC reported,

The PM’s mother and brother have both been paid to appear at WE Charity events. Margaret Trudeau collected $250,000 in speaking fees at 28 events, while Alexandre received about $32,000 for speaking at 8.

It noted,

Prime Minister Trudeau and his government have been under fire since announcing on June 25 they were awarding a $19.5 million sole-source contract to WE Charity to administer the Canada Student Service Grant, a $912 million program offering grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 to post-secondary students in return for supervised volunteer hours.”

Nothing to see here. Maybe Trudeau’s family forget to mention the payments to him at the dinner table.

You can’t make this stuff up

Really? Aren’t conservatives merely calling out left wing celebrities for their own blatant hypocrisy? Yet the media can’t help but cry that they are being victimized and targeted. Newsweek’s liberal tears about “weaponizing cancel culture” can be found here.

As conservative Charlie Kirk pointed out in a tweet,

“Has anyone noticed—everyone who has been caught in blackface is a leftist:

—Ralph Northam

—Jimmy Kimmel

—Jimmy Fallon

—Howard Stern

—Joy Behar

—Sarah Silverman

—Ted Danson

—Gigi Hadid

—Julianne Hough

—Billy Crystal

—Justin Trudeau

Maybe Republicans aren’t the problem here?”

That is the ultimate irony of the left. It is only too happy to cancel everyone else. Yet when it comes to their own side, somehow they are unfairly treated.

Actor, James Woods tweeted about Kimmel’s apology with,

I have long been reluctant to address this, as I knew doing so would be celebrated as a victory by those who equate apologies with weakness.” // So another leftist essentially uses his “apology” as an attack on others. Just own it, you unabashed racist.

Now Tina Fey wants episodes of “30 Rock” where she starred with black face to be removed.

Don’t we all love to get sanctimonious lectures from hypocrites?

Uninformed bash ScoMo thanks to media which loves to misinform

The optics were awful. Residents of Cobargo, in the Labor held electorate of Eden-Monaro, hurled expletives at PM Scott Morrison. People shunned handshakes and the PM, in hindsight was a little daft trying to force a few for the cameras. It just made a bad situation worse. It was almost Malcolm Turnbullesque in its awkwardness. Still the media got exactly what they wanted – clickbait.

Most of us can’t fathom losing a home to raging bushfires. Yet the media beat up is bordering on Morrison Derangement Syndrome (MDS). Do the press corps honestly believe that Morrison’s popularity would suffer a blow from those assembled? Nary a Coalition voter in that mob.

The reporting has been pathetic. Little or no attempt to point out how the fire services are financed and funded. Next to no coverage of the voices of the volunteer fire fighters who have blamed years of green tape preventing them from mitigating the damage we’re experiencing now. Just feeding narratives and worse incorrectly apportioning blame.

How eerily silent the media has been over Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk’s two week holiday during these bushfires. Where was the demand for her to come back? No, just kick the PM for having a holiday. Don’t forget to take a swipe at his faith for added mileage.

Like most crises, it’s easy to become an armchair expert when hindsight is 20-20. The simplest thing to do is criticize whoever is at the helm. So MDS reigns supreme on social media as people seek moral preening.

How many are aware that in order to conduct hazard reductions, a combination of local councils, fire authorities and state governments (Dept of Planning, Infrastructure & Environment) need to issue permits? Not the federal government. See below:

NSW

Queensland

Victoria

South Australia

Western Australia

Tasmania

Northern Territory

ACT

So in short, most of this bushfire hazard reduction system is out of the ‘legal’ remit of the PM. What leadership can he truly provide without running roughshod over the state premiers? Even if he did so, nothing practical could have been achieved in such a short time. Not as if you buy fire trucks off a dealership floor.

Should he give the states more cash? Speak in platitudes? Promise the world before having completed the due diligence on the shortcomings that has led to the disaster? Hand out water bottles? Buy a whole fleet of water bombers and keep them parked in hermetically sealed hangars at Canberra Airport for states to borrow as needed?

All the decisions surrounding equipping the fire services are state decisions. This makes sense as each state has a different nature portfolio to oversee.

ScoMo has made sensible commentary to the effect that the hazard reduction regulations need serious overhaul. It is still up to the states to legislate the changes.

FNF Media has suggested a full audit over the several decades within the fire services themselves. Find out what went wrong? The management errors. The processes by which terrible equipment and fuel load choices have been made. Listen to the volunteers who are singing an entirely different tune to the fire management. Don’t forget there is nothing more honest than the voice of someone willing to sacrifice time and money to serve their fellow citizens.

When will the media grow up and start some honest reporting?

As Mark Twain once said,

If you don’t read the newspaper you are uninformed; if you do read the newspaper you are misinformed.”

Indeed, it’s been a rough couple of weeks for the PM. He has handled the situation poorly. Albanese has extracted some political mileage at his press conferences.

Yet politics is a strange game. Already the media is chomping at the bit in predicting ScoMo’s downfall.

Morrison already won the unwinnable election. Canadian PM Trudeau won a second term despite a myriad of scandals where he was found guilty, black face, nauseating political correctness and endless hypocrisy.

Morrison may have many shortcomings but he still proves why opposition leaders can’t run campaigns on being less worse than the incumbent. Moreover he has many years left in this term to make amends.

Teflon Trudeau

At this stage, it seems that Canadian PM Justin Trudeau will form a minority government. Look forward to 4 more years of gaffes ahead. Having said that, the Conservatives need to take a long hard look in the mirror and realise they lost to a completely empty suit. That speaks volumes of their (lack of) popularity where it mattered. CM has said for a long time that Rona Ambrose was always the better choice to be the leader of the Conservatives. This was an own goal.

Trudeau had blackface, brown face, dressing like an Indian, using words like peoplekind, using two planes on the election campaign and the Trans Mountain pipeline debacle despite his climate emergency antics, found guilty of breaching ethics in the Aga Khan and SNC Lavalin scandals and even suggesting the use of haiku and poetry to assimilate returning ISIS fighters etc. against him but despite all that and more, it didn’t upset enough Canadians to sway their vote. All of this was on the ticket, much like Trump’s “grab ’em by the p#ssy” remarks. Say all you want about the morals or ethics of those that still voted for him despite all this. It is irrelevant. They did. Deal with it. For once Obama got a call right.

The Conservatives should have done far better but obviously failed to connect with the people. Scheer should step down as leader. Canada is obviously not that conservative despite a strong gain. Sadly, Scheer’s performances were quite poor in the final weeks when deflecting questions, especially related to hiring people that Trump used on his campaign. Just sounded disingenuous. Best to admit it and carry on. If there was a worry this would be discovered Scheer’s team shouldn’t have hired him.

No point in Conservatives wheeling out the old “we won the popular vote” excuse as the Democrats did in the 2016 US election as Trudeau has held onto power by the rules. In the end that is all that counts.

Still, Canadians, nor the Liberals should be cheering the outcome. Minority governments are poisonous. Australia’s 2010 election proved how disastrous compromise can be. As politicians look to serve their own interests, poor compromise is often made. Note that Singh’s NDP has been slaughtered so even as a coalition partner, he can’t wield so much power with such a poor outcome, so net-net Trudeau won’t face much of a different landscape.

On a positive note, by losing their majority, the Liberals will also lose a majority on parliamentary committees. This will mean far less ability to shut down investigations of scandals. A strengthened opposition may look into a deeper investigation on SNC-Lavalin but is that what Canadians want?

So with bitter disappointment, congratulations still go to Teflon Trudeau. CM believes it will be a case of buyer’s remorse in Canada. Conservatives have 4 more years to get their house in order. Much like Albanese is struggling with Labor’s platform in Australia, Conservatives need to wake up and smell the coffee.

It is worth assessing what has happened in Canada translating south of the border in next year’s US presidential election. Can people see how despite being cloaked in scandals, gaffes, blunders and many other flaws, Trudeau didn’t lose enough voters to cost him his job? That is why, despite the hateful media, Trump is set to romp home in 2020. Ultimately people care (and vote) about issues affecting them, not the morals or actions of those that hold power. Do people really think the Democrats are in with a shot with the current crowd of candidates? Trump has a Teflon coating too.

Everything you missed from the 4th debate

Tulsi Gabbard is the only nominee with any credibility. The rest look a complete clown show. Enjoy. Elizabeth Warren claims she has been in 70,000 selfies. Got to be an election winner on that alone.

Interesting to see that former President Obama has endorsed scandal clad Justin Trudeau in Canada but he won’t say one word to back the “best VP in American history” Joe Biden. Let’s hope Obama’s predictive powers extend to Canada as they have Brexit and Trump.

Trolling Trudeau

After it was revealed that ecomentalist Canadian PM Justin Trudeau was using two aircraft (one for him and the media entourage and the other for his luggage) on his campaign trail, opposition leader Andrew Scheer trolled him brilliantly. Hopefully those removal vans are already booked.

From black face to egg face

Poor old Canadian PM Justin Trudeau can’t catch a break. While he loves to lecture his peoplekind on all the woke topics, especially feminism, compelled speech and climate change he was outed by his opponent Conservative Party leader Andrew Scheer in a debate for using two jets for his campaign – one to ferry him and the media and the other to carry his luggage.

Boy Blunder now looks like egg face. Surely Canadians will turf this empty social justice warrior on October 21st. His biggest achievements would appear to revolve around ethics scandals – Aga Khan, Morneau Shepell and SNC Lavalin to name three.

Still CM’s favourite was the cardboard cutouts of Trudeau that were sent to embassies and consulates throughout the world. It truly captured the two dimensional nature of the man.

Ouch

Pictures tell a thousand words. The circles to the left are quite cutting.

CM unreservedly apologises to teenagers, mutants, ninjas & turtles

Image result for time magazine brown face

CM unreservedly apologises to all teenagers, mutants, ninjas and turtles for wearing a TMNT costume 28 years ago. CM hopes no one was offended by pretending to be 19 when I was actually 20 at the time. It was inappropriate and CM deeply regrets the use of the word “Cowabunga, dudes” when referring to Amanda and Claire outside the ANU Refectory.

For the record, CM cannot stand Justin Trudeau on so many levels. From the use of the word, ‘people kind‘ to cardboard cutouts of himself sent to Canadian embassies around the world. The worst of all has been his meddling in the SNC Lavalin affair of which he was found guilty.

However, the liberal media meltdown over Justin Trudeau for wearing brown face at an Arabian Nights costume party in 2001 is taking faux outrage to new levels. Isn’t the point of “fancy dress” to look as close as possible to the character one is trying to mimic? The journalists talking about “regret”. Could they be any more pathetic?

Remember the poor kid who idolized Nic Naitanui, (a coloured AFL player) so much so he went to great lengths to look identical to his hero? All she was doing was trying to pretend to be the man she clearly looked up to. There was no hint of racism to be found yet the mob descended to pillory the poor lass. Nic even tweeted that he was touched by the gesture before the Twitterati bullied him into suggesting he needed to be educated about his own culture. Surely the litmus test is that if he wasn’t offended, why should anyone else be?

In 2019, basically, everything is off-limits. Lots of terrible things happened decades ago. However, to push hard in the oppression olympics seems all that matters these days. The effort to achieve the gold medal in victimhood is something to aspire to.

As much as CM can not stand Trudeau, his actions were unlikely at any time to be insensitive, racially motivated or intentionally hurtful. So for once Justin, you should just tell people to get a life.

If any person of any colour makes fun of CM as a white man with a receding hairline, slightly bulging waistline and poor dress sense, CM will not be in the least bit offended. CM, if instructed by the Twitterati, will issue an unconditional apology for decades of white privilege and express deep regret over the trauma caused by people who lived 100 years before CM was born and has no relation.

Maybe the best way to sort out the faux outrage mob is to demand that their past of 20 years ago is brought up and blasted around the world. Jonathan Pie summed up the oppression obsession best here.
