LAPD the next victim on the block

Notice a theme? Left-wing city governments around America are entertaining and enacting cuts to police budgets. Minneapolis City Council is going even further. It is debating “to disband the Minneapolis Police Department and start fresh with a community-oriented, nonviolent public safety and outreach capacity.

This group of LAPD officers stood up to LA City Councillor Monica Rodriguez to tell her if it wasn’t for them, Los Angeles would be a charred mess.

The police spokesperson responded,

Now you’re cutting from their families and they put everything on the line? We are going to fight… At the ballot box.

So the good cops in the LAPD will suffer for the actions of a few.

LA City Mayor Eric Garcetti is the politician who proudly championed that he would have the water and electricity cut off for any businesses that didn’t comply with the stay at home order. He also proudly banned sunbathing on dry sand.

These politicians are insane. If they want to invite the exact destruction to the cities they control under the belief that defunding the police will prevent it, they couldn’t do a better job than they’re doing.

Pathetic.

Woman tears rioters to shreds

NY resident Desiree Barnes let rip at looters who were from out of town for trashing infrastructure in hers. She claimed as a black person she has a right to be angry but those who aren’t don’t get what their actions have already done to the community they’ve just trashed. She says the buses that transported workers uptown have stopped coming and charging stations for the homeless don’t work. If the want to help she says to “register to vote.”

Economist and social theorist, Thomas Sowell once said,

Activism is a way for useless people to feel important, even if the consequences of their activism are counterproductive for those they claim to be helping and damaging to the fabric of society as a whole.

Hypocrisy at its worst

ESPN NBA reporter Chris Martin Palmer tweeted his joy at rioters burning down buildings in Minneapolis on May 28th until it looked like it would affect his own community on May 31st when he doth protest these out of town animals.

Not in my back yard?

Palmer said after police arrived,

Welp. They’re gone. Security called the cops and they swarmed. Some scattered, others were arrested. (You hate to see it.) Tense moments. There’s graffiti everywhere. We live in a beautiful, safe community and have pride. These people had no pride and weren’t protesters.”

Presumably unsafe and ugly communities which have no pride are fair game to be torched by ‘animals’ who clearly aren’t protestors. Glad he cleared that up.

This is the sickness that undermines the lessons that should be taken away from this tragedy. It is despicable to see so many people want to boost their social media following by posting such stupidity.

Trump is 100% correct with this Exec Order against Twitter et al

While the mainstream media will howl in protest, Trump has made it very clear to social media companies with this executive order – YOU DECIDE.

Trump is merely saying is that if these companies wish to keep a liability shield in place, they need to abide by the neutrality of the service provision which was always the spirit of the law. They flaunted it and now opened a Pandora’s Box all by themselves.

Simply put, Twitter, Google, Facebook and others were getting away with murder. Censorship by its very nature dictates pushing political and social views on others. What a wonderful loophole it was to push political agendas with zero legal repercussions.

Google was busted after a video featuring senior management discussing plans after the 2016 election went viral. There is such chronic bias as much as they plead innocence. Ask yourself why your phone seems to populate ads on your webpages based on searches?

Twitter has censored more conservatives than we can list. To Twitter, it is not the principle but the side that matters.

Ultimately Trump has told them they are at liberty to run their businesses how they choose. Unfortunately, if they go down the path they have freely chosen they live by the new rules which are completely appropriate.

POTUS is 100% correct but watch the mainstream media meltdown. Zuckerberg, at the very least, gets it. Dorsey is too Trump deranged to know better. Trump also added that the government would be pulling the billions of dollars it gives social media platforms now that they want to actively push their own agenda.

Once again – the message is “YOU DECIDE”

Twitter took a knife to a gunfight

What did Twitter expect? The only reason the social media platform stuck a CNN fact check after Trump’s tweet regarding mail-in ballots was to give him a bloody nose. Nothing more. President Trump is known for his embellishments on most posts. What was new? It is his style.

In any event, as we mentioned yesterday, Twitter strayed from being an impartial (we use that expression lightly) social media platform to an overt media network with deep-seated political bias.

Twitter picked a fight purely of its own volition and chose to exercise that on the worst possible target. It poked a bear thinking the cage was locked.

To date, these social media platforms have been able to avoid lawsuits related to what their users post.

The suggestion is that Trump will make an executive order which would allow the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) under section 230 of the Communications Decency Act to allow people to seek remedy through the courts.

Given the blatant bias exhibited by these social media giants, this proposed amendment to the legislation would protect free speech, not curtail it.

The left will howl at the injustice and brand Trump a tyrant. What else is new? Little do they realize that in order to enshrine free speech, all views must be given an equal voice, even those they disagree with.

Twitter has long had this coming. 100% self inflicted wound.

Never carry a knife to a gunfight.

Twitter trolls Trump with a CNN fact checker link

Social media is alight with Twitter’s bold move to add a ‘fact-check’ link (to CNN of all networks) to President Trump’s claim that mail-in voting encourages electoral fraud. Twitter argued his comment was “potentially misleading.

Two points:

1) if it was consistent, Twitter should add fact checker links to around 99% of the unsubstantiated bile that is posted everyday. Why single out POTUS other than to indulge their utter hatred of him?

2) in 2005, former President Jimmy Carter and Reagan’s former Chief of Staff James A. Baker conduct a commission on election reform.

With respect to mail-in voting, the study noted:

“Absentee ballots remain the largest source of potential voter fraud.

The Carter-Baker Commission argued that national voter identification was needed to prevent real ballot fraud (especially as absentee voting could lead to double voting across states by submitting by mail and voting on election day) and to keep public confidence in the election process.

Trump has 80.9 million Twitter followers. We somehow think that fact-checking conducted by left-leaning social media platforms leaning on a reprehensible network like CNN is laughable given the shameless and glaring bias.

Note that Michael Moore’s documentary, “Planet of the Humans” has been taken down from YouTube after pressure from activists on the grounds of “copyright infringement”. Just like the two doctors that spoke out about coronavirus. That video was removed as well.

How wonderful we are able to rely on such platforms to tell us what we are allowed to think.

In conclusion, Twitter is walking on thin ice. If it starts to behave as a “media” outlet doling out opinions instead of being a mere provider of a social media platform, it may find itself wearing regulations that stifle its ability to operate. Bring it on. That would be a spectacular own goal.

The Right has no problem with the Left’s free speech

The Left misses the point every time. Conservatives don’t wish for Clementine Ford’s free speech to be curtailed or reined in at all. On the contrary. We think her comments speak for themselves. This comment was far from her worst. She is proud of her “potty mouth” as her Twitter handle boasts.

We find it utterly contemptible that the City of Melbourne’s Lord Mayor Sally Capp didn’t stand up and send a message by cancelling the grant funded by ratepayers. Instead she said it couldn’t be undone and expressed it only as, “deliberately divisive and incredibly unhelpful.

While Ford walked back her comments with a ‘sorry, not sorry‘ tweet, had a man written “honestly, the corona virus isn’t killing women fast enough” the grant would have been rescinded immediately and the individual raked over coals for weeks.

The hypocrisy of the left is astounding. Recall soon to be retiring conservative radio personality Alan Jones who told NZ PM Ardern to “shove a sock down her throat“. We pointed out the sanctimony of brands like Koala who pulled advertising on the grounds that Jones didn’t reflect their values while at the same time had Clem Ford run a mattress campaign for them. It’s not the principle that matters but the side.

So please Clementine, tell us what you think always. Men aren’t triggered by such ridiculous empty rhetoric. They just find it appalling that the people entrusted to administer ratepayer funds can’t summon up the courage to practice the most basic level of governance and send a message that they have standards they hold ALL people to.
