Australia Day – feel free to have your own minute’s silence

It is that time of the year again. Australia Day. Time for the woke brigade to shame any Aussies thinking of firing up the BBQ and sinking a few beers with friends and family. If some people don’t want to celebrate it, then they’re free not to. But what is the point of making people feel guilty for something they didn’t do to people they never knew 150 years before many were born?

Our local member in the House of Reps, Zali Steggall OAM, has called for a minute’s silence on Australia Day. By all means, if she feels that way, she should go right ahead and make her personal statement. Just quit the vacuous virtue signaling.

We’ll dismiss it with the same out-of-touch “Roadmap to Zero” program she has running in Warringah. You know, the climate change virtue signaling page where well over 98.5% of households in the electorate haven’t even bothered to sign up, despite her insistence that the gas guzzling SUV drivers of Mosman elected her to put a stop to climate change.

When are we going to drop this shaming every year? Why is Cricket Australia (CA) now buying into woke antics, especially that of a foreigners violent Marxist group? Can anyone in CA management point to any data or conclusive studies which prove the lives of indigenous Australians will improve by dropping the name or the date? Surely all 365 days of the year should be deemed invasion day if January 26th is considered so reprehensible.

Cricket Australia’s Mel Jones said, “We’ve got five Indigenous players playing those games and a lot of Indigenous fans that come to the cricket, we just want to make this space as safe and inclusive as possible.”

What could be more inclusive than watching cricket over a few beers? Surely CA’s focus should be on winning after the drubbing against India but toxic identity politics is front and centre. Wallabies anyone?

Honestly, can CA identify the fans by name who feel triggered when they voluntarily pay hard-earned coin to watch cricket matches? The Aboriginal & Torres Strait Island flags adorn major cricket venues. Every game. Is that not inclusive?

But why can’t those who want to change the date get the facts straight on Australia Day?

Australia Day is celebrated on the 26th January for a very good reason.

The First Fleet arrived in Botany Bay on the 20th of January and an expedition party was sent to Port Jackson on the 22nd of January with the rest of the fleet following on the 26th of January. So the “day” Australia was technically invaded was almost a week prior.

On January 26th, 1949, Australian nationality came into existence when the Nationality and Citizenship Act 1948 was enacted. That was the day we were first called Australians and allowed to travel with passports as Australians rather than British subjects. Hence Australia Day was officially born and celebrated.

Under the Nationality Act 1920 (Cth), all Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders born after January 1, 1921, gained the status of British subjects. In 1949, therefore, they automatically became Australian citizens under the Nationality and Citizenship Act 1948.

So for all the protestors and virtue signaling groups trying to win woke points, perhaps they should spend that minute silence learning the actual dates of what they’re protesting.

Maybe Aussies can strike a deal. Will the activists promise that they’ll stop protesting forever on this issue if the date is changed to one of their choosing? Of course they can’t. Moving the date would embolden the mob to push more grievance politics. Remember that many of the protestors don’t represent the majority of the people they claim to represent. As is usually the case with most protestors.

The overwhelming majority of Aussies are fair minded people aware of their history. The government is so aware that those minority groups are paid 6% of the national budget, twice the level of their representative population. Every year. Shame on Cricket Australia. Stick to the core product and stop telling the fans how they should participate when they part with cold hard cash.

Media fawns over Biden – video montage

https://fb.watch/397ra_VLZt/

While it comes as absolutely no surprise, the media gushed and fawned over President Joe Biden’s inauguration. Take a look at this nauseating video montage welcoming the new White House occupant.

We honestly wonder how the media will cope as they wean themselves off 5 years of complete derangement. Listen to the contrast of how they sent off Trump today.

Can Americans live on a diet of news filtered through rose-tinted glasses?

Petition to change name of Glasgow Prestwick Airport to Joe Biden

A petition has been doing the rounds to change the name of Glasgow Prestwick Airport to ‘Joe Biden’ as former President Trump often uses the terminal due to its close proximity to his golf resort.

Should every city, town or airport that hosts a Trump property nearby change the name of an important landmark? Maybe rename the street of the entrance to Trump’s resort to Joe Biden Blvd? Should balloons shaped in the form of Trump in diapers be flown permanently above the town square just to rub it in his face until he is no longer alive?

As much as the left hate Donald Trump, when will the derangement end?

Yet it isn’t just about him. This isn’t a joke. It’s an extension of cancel culture which seeks to punish those the mob disagrees with.

My Pillow founder, Michael J Lindell, has had several large retail stores stop selling his merchandise because of his support of Trump. Many other brands have caved to the mob for the same reason – cowardice.

Instead of letting individual consumers decide for themselves, weak corporates are kneeling at the altar of wokeness, afraid to be cancelled by a bunch of fringe activists who aren’t likely to be customers anyway. We hope My Pillow sales boom online. Or will USPS, FedEx or UPS refuse to ship his goods down the line?

We were astonished to see a group of companies publicly denounce the Capitol riots. For the love of God, when people saw the despicable act of a few people overestimating their agency, did the names Toyota, GM or Pfizer pop into the heads of anyone as being related in any way? We’re guessing not but why did these corporates self-appoint themselves as moral guardians? Goodyear is hardly a bastion of balance when its HR pushed radical leftist training completely unrelated to the tyre business.

Why didn’t the PGA grow a spine and say that Trump’s course would provide the best golf. Do they honestly believe they’d lose a single fan? Pushing back works as proven by RedBull and Goya.

While the Prestwick Airport stunt might appear like a decent Scottish joke it is nothing more than an extension of cancel culture. For as much as the left scream about equality, compassion and fairness, they seem to want to hound Trump to his grave. Guess what, this will only embolden his supporters who are growing ever more weary of the deliberate suppression of free speech and ability to have a voice.

To the cancel culture, unity only comes from coerced conformity and every time a corporate caves, it emboldens them to go in even harder.

Be careful what you wish for.

But not letting someone earn $1,000 to survive is even more obscene

The Guardian remains true to form as ever – clueless about reality.

The author of this piece, Richard Denniss, forgets that the reason mice die in mousetraps is they fail to understand why the cheese is free.

An extra $1m may not be much to a billionaire but $1,000 to someone who can’t survive without it is way more obscene. And governments that imposed draconian laws on people who could least afford it based on junk science and activist health experts drunk on power, are even more out of line.

There is a precious irony in Denniss’ attack on the billionaires. If he took note of who the biggest mutual beneficiaries of lockdowns were, he would see that many of those same billionaires made the extra millions by hopping into bed with left leaning parties who openly supported the destruction of small businesses executed under the guise of compassion.

Still, it is easier for him to blame conservatives than admit that the ultimate impact lockdowns had on human lives by way of suicide, poverty and unemployment came from policies heavily promoted by the left.

Scottish Police & political correctness

Sad but true.

Thanks SF for the flag

Media already holding new administration to account

While the mainstream media released starving lions every time a Trump administration official was interviewed, just look at the fluffy miniature poodles set upon VP-elect Kamala Harris in this catch up.

Surely America has been waiting to know more about Harris’ sneakers than what she will do with her vote in the hung Senate!

Banks & Insurers lecture customers on morals

Baseball legend Curt Schilling has claimed that insurance company, AIG, has cancelled his policy over tweets he made about the recent events on the Capitol.

Schilling stated he had a AAA rating and no claims for 17 years.

Aren’t insurance companies supposed to assess risk? Did Schilling have a major endorsement contract with AIG? If so, we’d understand. If not, isn’t he an anonymous customer among millions?

What relevance does an insurance policy have to do with a customer expressing first amendment rights? Has AIG gone through the Twitter accounts of all of its policy holders to check they have not said anything similar to Schilling? If not, would be highly discriminatory, no? Should he sue?

Wasn’t AIG found guilty of entering into sham transactions in order to inflate the reserves and to conceal losses in 2005? Didn’t Schilling, a taxpayer, indirectly bail out AIG post the GFC?

Deutsche Bank has also moved to end its association with Donald Trump. Ironic, that a bank which has been fined repeatedly for unethical behavior such as money laundering thinks it has an opportunity to save its skin by signaling it has repented. Will a flood of customers open accounts as a sign of appreciation? Probably not.

Fascinating that – bank worth 8% of its peak value, is lecturing customers about morals when it has a self-documented history of being a bank for the Third Reich, including the provision of funds to build the Auschwitz extermination camp.

Since when did corporates self-appoint themselves as moral arbiters of their customers individual constitutionally enshrined liberties? Will customer social media profiles now form part of the loan application documents? “Sorry sir, your credit rating is outstanding but the application has been rejected for something you posted when 13 years old.” Got it?

More corporate cowardice masquerading as courage. This is nothing more than companies showing they are going out of their way to make public sacrifices on the altar of the Marxist fringe mobs in the hope they become the last to be cancelled. What a joke.

We never thought it imaginable but today, corporate PR departments have less spine than internal compliance officers.

Can Trump be impeached after he leaves office?

According to J. Michael Luttig, a former judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit,

The Constitution itself answers this question clearly: No, he cannot be. Once Trump’s term ends on Jan. 20, Congress loses its constitutional authority to continue impeachment proceedings against him — even if the House has already approved articles of impeachment.

Therefore, if the House of Representatives were to impeach the president before he leaves office, the Senate could not thereafter convict the former president and disqualify him under the Constitution from future public office.”

One wonders whether Speaker Pelosi might show the American people the same urgency with issues that actually matter to them. Is this a preview of the “servant’s heart” mentality Arnie Schwarzenegger spoke of in his woke video this week?

At the very least she didn’t wait for collectors item pens with her signature embossed to arrive like she did at the time of the first impeachment.

The Dems have only one wish for a successful impeachment – to guarantee they never have to contend with someone with 74m supporters.

Amazon said Parler move was in good faith

https://fb.watch/2ZUoqh2Yfy/

Amazon said its move to ditch Parler from its AWS platform was done in good faith. So much good faith that it decided with the best intentions to leak the letter to left-wing media site, Buzzfeed, before sending it to the intended recipient, Parler.

Impeccable ethics and corporate integrity right there. Who doesn’t leak important legal documents before sending to the addressee?

Impeachments vs Pardons

As the Democrats move to impeach Trump for a second time for “incitement of insurrection” we could be mistakenly led to believe that to Pelosi, Schumer & Nadler, every saint has a past and every sinner a future unless they’re Republicans.

The Democrat Party seems to be fond of terrorists, thugs and criminals. A brief, but not exhaustive history.

Back in 1983, Susan Rosenberg was sentenced to 58 years after being convicted of a plot to assassinate Republican senators with a pipe bomb outside the US Senate chamber.

Among other things, Rosenberg was suspected of helping Assata Shakur escape from prison in 1979. Shakur assassinated a New Jersey state trooper and now lives in exile in Cuba. She was also involved in bombings and several executions of cops in New Jersey, New York and San Francisco.

House Judiciary Committee Chair Jerry Nadler, implored then President Bill Clinton to commute Rosenberg’s 58 year sentence. Clinton pardoned her in January 2001.

Susan Rosenberg is now the vice-chair of the left-wing Thousand Currents group, which handles the administration of the donations made to Black Lives Matter.

One of the BLM founders, Alicia Garza, has repeatedly talked about Assata Shakur as one of her main inspirations. Nice to look at cop killers as mentors.

Remember when Democrats labeled Donna Hylton as one of “America’s most impactful community leaders” in a segment about the Constitution during the 2020 DNC?

Donna Hylton was known as inmate #86G0206 for 27 years. She was convicted of first-degree kidnapping and second-degree murder in the slaying of real estate broker Thomas Vigliarolo along with six other accomplices.

He was brutally tortured – burnt, beaten, starved, testicles squeezed with pliers, a three-foot metal bar up inserted in his anus – and eventually stuffed in a footlocker to decompose. Amazing what lengths one must go to become a community leader. Three feet apparently.

VP-elect Kamala Harris, said that she was “proud of Jacob Blake when she visited him in hospital. At the very least we have to say her messaging is consistent. After all, she backed the Minnesota Freedom Fund which bailed out criminals, some charged with murder, rape and child sexual assault. Jacob Blake’s father is an anti-Semite. It is amazing what makes an “incredible family” in America these days.

Maybe that is why she could show pride in Jacob Blake, who resisted arrest, fought with police officers (including headlocking one of them), ignored their instructions repeatedly while returning to his car for a weapon. He also was arrested in the past for brandishing a firearm in a bar while drunk, carrying a concealed firearm inside a public building, battery, assault, domestic violence and had an outstanding warrant for sexual assault and trespass.

If the Democrats didn’t have double standards they’d have none at all. Never mind all the Democrats who openly supported rioting, defunding the police and physically attacking anyone in Trump’s cabinet. It’s not the principle but the side that matters.
