Open Letter to America from Australia

Dear America,

As one of your closest allies, we cherish our long term relationship. Long may it prevail. We have spilt blood together in the defence of democracy. Australia has always been the first country to sign up to support the US on the battlefield to protect freedom and liberty.

For a bit of perspective, we thought we’d subject what is going on over there to what Aussies call a “pub test.” It is a figure of speech which depicts bar patrons decide what passes as truth or fiction over a beer. After all, a drunk man speaks a sober man’s mind.

From the offset we want to declare we have absolutely no say in how any of you choose to vote. Nor do we want to have a say. Your future should be in your hands, not ours. Although we are struck by how many liberals from other nations demand you vote according to their wishes, not yours.

We hope that November 3rd can deliver a free and fair election where democracy is the only winner. We have our doubts here.

Sometimes a voice who has no say in the outcome can provide perspective. We have no skin in the game. We just hope to provide our view of things.

In Australia, we also suffer the daily musings of a left leaning mainstream media obsessed with clickbait over facts. Nothing as bad as what you have over there but the ideology behind it is the same. Steeped in identity politics and pushing woke causes.

Our journalists, like yours, believe that Twitter is an accurate representation of the majority. Nothing could be further from the truth. We often write that journalistic integrity will only return when the media loves Americans more than they hate Trump. Ours too. What used to be a profession that thrived on facts, now focuses on activism. How many obituaries of slain terrorists read like they were scholars and selfless philanthropists of the highest order?

Watching the VP debate this week, we heard Senator Kamala Harris make the absurd assertion that foreign leaders think more highly of Chinese President Xi Jinping than President Donald Trump. Really?

What many of you may have missed several months ago was that soon after our Prime Minister Scott Morrison proposed an independent investigation into China’s mishandling of COVID-19 outbreak, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) retaliated with tariffs and one senior bureaucrat even went as far as to say Australia waschewing gum stuck to China’s shoe.

Aussies are stoic. To us that was a spit in the face. That annoyed us. We are sure it would rile Americans too. We maybe a small nation but we aren’t a bunch of pushovers.

Unfortunately, up to that date, our political class had long kowtowed to China because of the relatively huge size of the trading relationship with Australia. Expediency was put ahead of principle.

Since coronavirus, many Aussies, including our law makers, have come around to the same philosophy of Trump. All bets are off when it comes to China now. We’ve had enough. We don’t trust the CCP. No one wants to be insulted without reason.

Look, we understand President Trump has an unorthodox style to say the least. He can be petulant at times. He is prone to exaggeration and has a glass jaw. But he gets things done which is ultimately the main aim of his role, no?

Trump must be the only politician in living memory to be condemned for actually keeping his promises.

You don’t have to like Trump. After all who looks to their politicians for moral or spiritual guidance? Yet he is mercilessly attacked every single day by the media which often finds itself peddling false narratives. It seldom apologizes but surely American citizens must be growing tired of story after story about how the orange man is bad.

To us he is a breath of fresh air. No massaged or nuanced comments. Full blunt force. He doesn’t care who he offends. He only looks forward. We totally get that he ruffles feathers. Yet after decades of failed administrations, isn’t he a monster of their own creation? Didn’t they give birth to him? Had they executed on behalf of the American people, Donald Trump would never seen the light of day in the Oval Office.

We post a legitimate question. Can you honestly say that the Left side of politics in America has made a sound argument to the voting public as to why it considers itself the sensible, credible and morally superior alternative via its actions?

The Russia hoax – which now looks like a hit job which goes all the way to the top of the Obama administration – has revealed the sinister side of the establishment.

If this were Australia, no matter which party affiliation one supported, few if any would blindly accept such blatant collusion courtesy of taxpayer funded agencies seeking to pervert the course of democracy. We would demand those responsible be brought to justice and punish the party that indulged in the duplicitous behaviour.

You can be absolutely sure if Biden prevails, #Obamagate will be dead and buried forever. That is the sincere hope for the guilty parties. Who doesn’t delete their phone records by entering their password incorrectly? Who doesn’t take out indemnity insurance if they are following the letter of the law? Is it any wonder Obama is campaigning so hard for a man he took forever to endorse?!

Let’s not forget that Barack Obama even took to using John Lewis’ funeral as an opportunity to make a campaign speech during his eulogy. Crass. Michelle Obama has hardly graced herself talking about her “low grade depression” from her $15m Martha’s Vineyard mansion.

Even if you hate Trump, having him serve four more years to bring corrupt officials in public agencies to heel is the cheapest insurance policy Americans can pay. Failure to do so will mean that you openly authorize federal agencies to defraud you at will to remain in power. Jim Comey and friends never thought they needed to worry about their actions until Hillary Clinton lost 2016. His recent testimony was unbelievable.

We watched the Kavanaugh Senate confirmation circus in disgust. An accomplished man was besmirched in much the same fashion of Clarence Thomas in the 1990s. It was a farce.

The impeachment clown show led by Nancy Pelosi, who grinned her way through the ‘sombre occasion’, was a national embarrassment. Member of Congress, Rep Rashida Tlaib, promised to “impeach the mother f*cker!” What a disgrace to the office. She smiled on her way to cast her vote as if it was some sort of big joke. Recall the embarrassing moment where Adam Schiff chased after Jerry Nadler who stormed the podium to make his own closing remarks. Officials behaving like unruly teenagers.

Perhaps the biggest revelation to come from COVID-19 is not so much the virus but the overt display of power drunk Democrat mayors and governors. They have been borderline despotic and utterly hypocritical. These politicians live by the creed “rules for thee, but not for me!

Most recently, Nancy Pelosi got caught unmasked in a hair salon. Instead of accepting the double standard, she claimed she was set up and sought to legally ruin the business. True colours. Pelosi also showed how out of touch she is by revealing her $20,000 freezer full of boutique ice cream during lockdown when her district is in such squalor.

Who could forget Oregon Gov Kate Brown ordering child protective services on a hair salon owner who wanted to feed her family? What was the connection?

Or LA Mayor Eric Garcetti threatening to cut off the utilities of businesses defying lockdown. How pleased we were to see Californians let off July 4th fireworks in defiance of the order not to.

Or Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan calling CHAZ a “summer of love” until it affected her personally. How we laughed at these protestors demanding supplies from the functional democracy they sought to overthrow.

Perhaps the most disgraceful episode of COVID-19 was the vile reaction from the left wishing death on Trump. Argue all you want about his handling of the pandemic but the Left’s derangement and unsuitability has been on full display. Do people that wish death on others show all the hallmark qualities of leaders capable of uniting a nation?

Never mind the actions of NY Governor Cuomo stuffing nursing homes with infected patients or then NYC Health Commissioner Oxiris Barbot cheerleading identity politics and encouraging people to reject Trump’s xenophobia instead of falling back on her own medical expertise. Orange man bad.

Then came the BLM protests.

The George Floyd incident united a nation. The majority of the public were well on side in fighting for justice and equality right up to the point where they ended up being attacked by the mob in restaurants, neighbourhoods, cars or even protecting their homes.

Peaceful protests gave way to looting, arson, carjackings, assault, shootings and violence. Statues were pulled down. Public and private property destroyed and defaced. Were Nancy Pelosi’s “people will do what they do” comments acceptable? Was talking 100 days after the violence started to condemn it when the polls started to swing sincere? Of course not.

How we felt sorry for struggling businesses under the jackboot of draconian lockdowns having to suffer a further kick to the guts, despite being innocent bystanders. The damage will be lasting. Sure BLM leaders might scream that insurance will pay for the looting now but they overlook the reality that premium hikes will all but guarantee they can’t reopen.

Cities that have been run by Democrats for half a century or more ordered their police to stand down. Is it any wonder that wrapping law enforcement in red tape has dire consequences? The fools sitting on the Minneapolis City Council gave us front row seats to witness how crime flourishes when liberal policies are applied. Who knew they’d be forced to reexamine their own self-inflicted wound?

Then liberals want to tell you that Senator Kamala Harris is a credible candidate. She openly sponsored and supported the MFF which has bailed out felons charged with rape, battery and sexually assaulting an 8-yo child. She even praised career felon Jacob Blake and his family, including his anti-Semitic father. That’s right, criminals are now the innocent victims in the minds of Democrats. It is your fault they stole your wallet.

Even worse this has led to a string of activist DAs across America who want to prosecute innocent parties before evidence is even heard. Think of the sinister behaviour of Fulton County DA Paul Howard who is covering up his own unethical behavior by framing cops who acted in the scope of the law he outlined during the arrest of Rayshard Brooks. Never mind that he was drunk, resisting arrest and fired a taser at the police because he knew he was going straight back to prison. No wonder the police unions are supporting Trump.

Think of Jake Gardner who was acquitted of murder in an act of self defence. Soon after an activist DA folded to mob pressure and prosecuted him with manslaughter, Gardner committed suicide.

Then the public was subjected to woke displays by the sporting codes. The NFL, NBA, MLB and others all joined in ramming politics down the throats of fans who had just paid hard earned money to distract themselves from the grind of life. How surprising that the NBA has just realised that lecturing fans is a bad idea and will remove overt displays in the locker room?

Oh to be lectured by Colin Kapernick who openly celebrated July 4th under Obama but lambasted it as a glorification of white supremacy this year. And Disney is going to give this serial victim a contract to produce a docuseries. Don’t even get us started o the hypocrisy of Alyssa Milano.

We don’t pretend that racism doesn’t exist. However when people like Jussie Smollett, Jonathan Lopez and Sabrina Belcher stage hate crime hoaxes we feel that the fight for equality is closer than it has been for decades of people are forced to conjure it. Hate crimes are a fraction of what they were 30 years ago.

Just look at Congresswoman Ilhan Omar who has pledged to dismantle the system. You know, the very system that rescued her from a Kenyan refugee camp and delivered her to the highest levels of government office. Hardly held back by systemic racism, wouldn’t you say?

When Joe Biden says “#YouAintBlack“, “poor kids are just as smart as white kids“, described blacks as “superpredators” in the 1994 crime bill, told Hispanics that their community is far more diverse than blacks or letting you know he is surviving lockdown because a black woman is restacking the grocery shelves, who is the racist? Trump has denounced white supremacy countless times. Listen for yourself.

We could go on and on with countless more examples including Nancy Pelosi’s recent wish to invoke the 25th Amendment. These people will stop at absolutely nothing to gain power. They care not one jot for you. Don’t forget that Nancy Pelosi felt so deeply for the loss of George Floyd that she called him George Kirby. Senator Chuck Schumer got it wrong too and guess what, YouTube has removed the video!

Yet another issue where Trump is 100% correct. Do you want some biased tech giant in control of what it deems you can consume? If these open platforms are taking on editorial decisions on what you are allowed to see, they should lose sanctuary status from prosecution. Surely you should have 100% control of what you view, read or hear without some apparatchik arbitrarily deciding for you.

As the debates have revealed, Joe Biden is a Trojan horse for a radically left agenda.

Your taxes will be raised, the Supreme Court will be packed and the GND is a formality. The Obamagate investigation will be buried and you can be assured the Democrats will embark on a 4-yr revenge fest based on their own.

We aren’t saying Trump is perfect. Far from it. Yet he hasn’t started a war, he’s got NATO to reach into their wallets, signed historic peace deals people like John Kerry said would never happen. He achieved record low unemployment rates for blacks, Hispanics and women. He is about to get pharma prices slashed 90% and is the only candidate that will hold China to account.

This is your country at stake. Ultimately we think that ‘lived experience’ will prevail. We think that Americans want their livelihoods back. They want the streets to be safe. They want honest cops. But they want honest politicians even moreso. They want prosperity. They want to have pride. They don’t want to be made to feel guilty for crimes they didn’t commit to people that didn’t suffer.

Say what you like about Trump, but from 10,000 miles away, none of you should expect a NY property developer to be the cleanest shirt. However the last four years of Democrat derangement have shown they are absolutely unfit to lead. Double standards, hoaxes and scandals backed by a hysteric cheerleading mainstream media.

Like Aussies, we know deep down Americans are a parochial and patriotic bunch. You have so much to be proud of and the last thing you need is to be lectured to by power mad career politicians with so little to show for other than lining their own pockets.

Do you want to die standing on your feet, or live on your knees. Because that is what is on the ballot.

God Bless America.

Regards,

Obamagate about to be declassified?

Grab your popcorn. Forget COVID. This is an election thermonuclear bomb as an issue.

If the released materials are what we think they are, Americans are about to get a front row seat into the complete state-sanctioned deception to ensure the outsider didn’t win in 2016.

Given that Hillary Clinton lost, we’ve already seen Mueller investigators ‘accidentally’ delete their phone records, FBI agents take out indemnity insurance and former FBI director James Comey dance around Senate testimony about pushing doctored evidence to get a FISA warrant to spy on Trump’s campaign.

Richard Nixon was an amateur.

Dan Bongino gives an interesting summary here.

Florida AG refers Bloomberg to FBI after he pledges to pay fines of felons to allow them to vote

Whoops.

It seems failed Democrat presidential nominee Michael Bloomberg is in hot water after pledging to pay the fines of 32,000 felons in Florida so that they can vote in the election. By law felons who have outstanding court fines or fees cannot vote.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody referred Bloomberg to the FBI to request a criminal investigation.

The AG’s letter to the FBI included this passage from the Florida Dept of State, Division of Elections:

Even other innocuous offering of an incentive simply to vote could run afoul of section 104.045 or section 104.061, or both, depending upon the circumstances involved. That is, incentives could be offered to a voter in a way that would be designed to directly or indirectly cause the voter or a larger group of voters to vote in a particular manner. In such a case, the person giving the incentive could be guilty of violating section 104.061, Florida Statutes, which makes it illegal to “directly or indirectly give or promise anything of value to another in casting his or her vote.

To the Democrats, the ends justify the means. Never mind the law. Because in their view, if they can get the orange man out of the way, then all will be forgiven.

After the John Lewis eulogy, what did anyone expect?

After Barack Obama’s eulogy about John Lewis, it was going to be hard to set a lower bar. He failed to do so. Nevertheless, he managed to rip Trump in his speech, despite his own failed legacy.

While the Obamas have eloquence in abundance, sadly the content doesn’t match the delivery.

Trump was right to tweet that Obama had been so late in endorsing the man he called the “greatest VP in American history.” Only up until the very end did he endorse Biden. Had he a shred of dignity he would have supported Joe Biden from day 1 of his intention to run.

How amusing to think that Barack Obama urged Biden not to run for president in 2016 and 2020, preferring Hillary Clinton over his own VP. Obama questioned Biden’s ability to win and warned others “don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to f**k things up.

Now with Obamagate unravelling, the sinister behaviour behind the smile is becoming apparent. Are we to believe Obama was completely unaware of all of the shenanigans going up to the highest levels of the FBI? The Durham Report will undoubtedly sling a lot of mud as to how corrupt the Democrats have been leading into and coming out of the 2016 election.

How quaint after spying on Trump that he said in reference to his successor, “Because that’s what’s at stake right now. Our democracy.”

More of his scandals can be seen in a piece we published here.

Obama in our view was the most divisive president in US history. This speech was nothing but sour grapes exposing the very failures that helped Trump win in 2016 and likely in 2020.

Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time

Image may contain: 4 people

President Trump posted this FBI produced picture of  15 suspects who have been identified by the US Park Police for vandalizing federal monuments in Lafayette Square in Washington, DC. Was it worth a 10-year prison sentence? A bit late now.

What always surprised us is how many rioters uploaded videos of their own actions to their social media accounts where the evidence has a half-life of infinity, even if they deleted it.

We recall a visit to an Israeli cybersecurity company that hacked hackers for a living. Within two minutes, they had the home address, drivers licence, health records, education background, aliases, which friends they chat with regularly on social media…the lot including the date and the email address used to set up social media accounts.

They’ll all get caught. Good.

Kayleigh McEnany helps deranged WH press corps to do their jobs properly

Trump’s new Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is doing such a great job with the White House press corps. In this video clip she turns their lack of journalistic integrity back on them by providing a list of questions to pique their curiosity about #Obamagate instead of letting them indulge in their favorite pastime of creating false narratives.

Scandal-less or Scandalous?

The mainstream media have been incessant on pointing out that Barack Obama’s presidency was completely scandal-free, apart from comically making light of his biggest misdemeanour – wearing a tan suit.

Where to start?

The Obama Department of Justice (DoJ) hardly acted in the spirit of its namesake. Nor have many other agencies or departments under his presidency. Some would also criticise the Trump DoJ of same.

Perhaps most noteworthy for us was the ruling by U.S. District Court Justice Andrew S. Hanen which forced Obama DoJ officials to mandatory ethics training over a period of 5 years for willfully ignoring a court order to stop undocumented immigrants from receiving work permits. Hanen claimed he had been misled by DoJ lawyers as to when the Obama administration would implement the directive. Hanen wrote,

The misconduct, in this case, was intentional, serious and material…In fact, it is hard to imagine a more serious, more calculated plan of unethical conduct.

Who could forget Attorney-General Loretta Lynch’s chance meeting with former President Bill Clinton on an airport tarmac in Phoenix just days before she was due to testify about his wife’s handling of classified material over personal emails? Bill Clinton justified it as,

I just wanted to say ‘hello’ to her and I thought it would look really crazy if we were living in a world where I couldn’t shake hands with the Attorney General, you know, when she was right there…Look, it’s 100 degrees out there. Come up and we’ll talk about our grandkids.”

Lynch suggested that they discussed Clinton’s golf game that day, the Orlando nightclub shooting, Brexit and the health of former Attorney General Janet Reno. Sure, the American public can buy that. No one could possibly imagine Hillary Clinton parsed their lips that day.

Or the time the Obama DoJ secretly obtained phone call and email records from the Associated Press (AP). The records, covering all of April and May 2012, covered more than 20 separate phone lines. These records included all outgoing calls of made from work and personal phone numbers of individual AP reporters, as well as the general phone lines of AP bureaus. So much for the constitutional rights of freedom of the press.

Or the debacle of Operation Fast & Furious. This was a plan conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to find the leaders of Mexican drug cartels by selling arms illegally to nefarious dealers in the hopes it would lead back to them. 2,000 weapons went across the border but the ATF admitted they never bothered to track them. One of the guns ended up killing the brother of the former attorney general of the state of Chihuahua. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and ICE Agent Jaime Zapata were killed by weapons released by the ATF. 300 Mexicans died or were wounded by Fast & Furious guns as well.

In 2012, the House Oversight Committee requested 1,300 pages of key documents it claimed the DOJ had withheld in relation to Fast & Furious and held then AG Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. Obama declared that the documents were protected under executive privilege despite the White House’s stringent denial of involvement.

Who could forget the National Security Agency’s (NSA) spying scandal? Section 702 empowers the NSA to spy on foreign powers. By doing so it is permitted to retain and use intercepted data that was collected on Americans under strict privacy protections. If any information was wrongly collected it is supposed to be destroyed immediately. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) claimed that Americans were having their information spied upon without a warrant. The NSA admitted that it had been slow to warn other intelligence agencies when such information was wrongly disseminated. It was supposed to warn any agency in possession of such data inside of 5 days. It averaged 19 days with the worst turn around recorded at 130 days.

Obama officials were also caught red-handed monitoring the conversations of members of Congress who opposed the Iranian nuclear deal in 2015. It is consistent with throwing Netanyahu under the bus in his final days of office.

How soon we forgot the IRS scandal targeting conservative organisations. The IRS was forced to publicly issue a sincere apology to these conservative groups for “heightened scrutiny and inordinate delays.

The outcome of the Linchpins case, which exposed the IRS, revealed that it was wrong to apply federal tax laws based only on an entity’s name, political viewpoints or positions on societal issues. The judge ruled that the IRS must act fairly, and using any form of politically based discrimination in administering the tax code is a violation of First Amendment rights.

The former FBI Director Jim Comey admitted in the Russia probe that he “was overconfident in the procedures that the FBI and Justice had built over 20 years. I thought they were robust enough. It’s incredibly hard to get a FISA. I was overconfident in those…There was real sloppiness, 17 things that either should’ve been in the (FISA) applications or at least discussed and characterized differently. It was not acceptable…I was wrong.

Hardly a scandal-free presidency. The fish rots at the head.

Which brings us to #Obamagate.

What did Obama know and when with respect to the Russia-collusion probe? Why were FISA warrants signed based on the FBI knowing full well it was based on fabricated evidence, including the Steele Dossier, which John Podesta testified was ultimately paid for by the DNC and the Clinton campaign? Why did then FBI Chief of Counterespionage Peter Strzok talk of insurance policies should Hillary Clinton lose and have a stream of disparaging texts showing his utter contempt of Trump? How could he possibly be independent in his work with such personal bias? Why did Strzok’s lover, Lisa Page state in September 2016 that “POTUS wants to know everything we’re doing.” Just an innocent pillow text?

Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell responded to a congressional request yesterday to declassify a list of Obama administration officials who had requested the unmasking of National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn from Nov. 8, 2016 to Jan. 31, 2017. They included,

  1. U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Samantha Power
  2. White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough
  3. Vice President Joe Biden
  4. FBI Director  James Comey
  5. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper
  6. CIA director John Brennan
  7. Secretary of the Treasury Jack Lew
  8. Deputy Chief of Mission to Italy and Republic of San Marino Kelly Degnan
  9. U.S. Ambassador to Italy and the Republic of San Marino John R. Phillips
  10. U.S. Treasury Office of Intelligence and Analysis Patrick Conlon
  11. Acting Assistant Treasury Secretary Arthur McGlynn
  12. Acting Deputy Assistant Treasury Secretary Mike Neufeld
  13. Deputy Secretary of the Treasury Sarah Raskin
  14. Under Secretary Treasury Nathan Sheets
  15. Acting Under Secretary Treasury Adam Szubin
  16. U.S. NATO Advisor Robert Bell
  17. U.S. Representative to the NATO Military Committee Vice Admiral John Christenson
  18. U.S. NATO Office of the Defense Advisor Policy Advisor for Russia Lt. Col. Paul Geehreng
  19. U.S. NATO Defense Advisor James Hursh
  20. U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission to NATO Lee Litzenberger (now Ambassador to Azerbaijan)
  21. U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO Ambassador Douglas Lute
  22. U.S. NATO Political Office Scott Parrish
  23. Deputy Secretary of Energy Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall
  24. U.S. NATO Political Advisor Tamir Waser
  25. U.S. Ambassador to Russia John Tefft
  26. U.S. Ambassador to Turkey John Bass
  27. Deputy Director of National Intelligence for Intelligence Integration Michael Dempsey
  28. Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence Stephanie O’Sullivan

Obama’s name is absent. Why so many people from the Treasury? How could so many people from Obama’s inner circle have known about the now exonerated Flynn but not the President? Note these were 28 individual requests rather than a single memo passed between people. Looks from the outside to be an abuse of power by eavesdropping on a political opponent. One of those individuals is now running for President.

On the surface, this surveillance looks like a far more impeachable offence than any Ukrainian quid pro quo nonsense that recently transpired.

Obama’s reaction after Flynn’s acquittal made him sound uncharacteristically offbeat and garbled in his message.

Say what one will about Trump’s character and behaviour but one has to question the ethics of the former administration. Seems more scandalous than scandal-less.

Uncomfortable truths about Hate Crime in America

Total HC by race

The FBI has a treasure trove of data on hate crimes, broken down by race, type of crime, city or state it occurred, motive and so on. The positive out of all of it is the overall trend of hate crimes has fallen dramatically since 1996 in absolute and relative terms. As always, we present the data without emotion. The figures published here are reported by the FBI. The Census Bureau is used for any population data.

As we reported in the previous post, the mainstream media is desperate to paint a narrative that anti-Asian hate crimes are about to go through the roof. Who might be behind it?

Race

The FBI data would suggest that a likely culprit of anti-Asian hate crimes might be whites, who make up c.75% of the population and totalled around 54% of hate crime offenders in 2018. Black Americans make up 13% of the US population but in 2018 were responsible for 24% of all hate crimes. Unknown races made up 12.9% and mixed races made up 6.9%. Asian-Americans are responsible for only 1.3% of offenders of hate crime, below their 5.8% representative population.

Offenders by Race

Over time, if we boil down hate crimes by race as a percentage of the overall representative populations, which doesn’t take into account repeat offenders, we can see clearly that not only has hate crime fallen in absolute terms it has plummeted in percentage terms too.

The FBI stats would tell us that Black Americans are twice as likely to commit hate crimes as White Americans as a percentage of their respective representative populations. That would be a narrative inducing headline, wouldn’t it? In absolute terms, whites still commit hate crimes at over 2x the rate of blacks and 42x that of Asians. However, the more important way to look at the data would be to say that as a % of hate crimes, over 99.98% of Black, White and Asian Americans are not in this cohort. Period.

Where does racially based hate crime usually occur? One could easily twist the data on that too.

HC Cities

One could argue that Elloree, South Carolina has 511x the race-based hate crimes of the national average. Springfield and Calhoun Falls, South Carolina would seem to support the data that South Carolinians are unhinged. Or do they? If we look at South Carolina as a state, hate crimes are more or less the same as the national average. What we did note from the stats is that the populations of Elloree, Springfield and Calhoun Falls were 652, 488 and 1,925 respectively vs a state population of 5.08 million.

We might say that a more densely populated area like Seattle (3.4mn residents) is 20x more racist than the national average. Or Washington DC at 10x. Decatur, Texas is 13x more racist per head of population but the State of Texas is below the national average. Is it a fair reflection? Probably not. The data can tell whichever story one wanted to paint. Would the media tread carefully here?

By state, the FBI data suggests the District of Columbia would seem to home to the highest percentage of all hate crimes for a state/district in America, even though as a % of the resident population, 99.96% of the citizens there are not. We can see how easy it is to paint narratives.

Republican

For the sake of comparison, we coloured the states by 2016 presidential election results. It would seem there were more Democratic-held states (blue) than Republican-held states (red) that were above the national average for hate crimes as a % of the resident population. It is not a very valid comparison but we often only hear that only Republicans are unabashed racists. Although one might argue that DC hate crimes are still committed by Republicans, even though party affiliation is not taken by the FBI. Perhaps it should!?

Race

The places where race-based hate crimes were committed threw up some interesting statistics. 25% were committed at or around the home. 20% on a highway, alley or street. 8% were unknown. Most other cases were reported at public venues such as schools, supermarkets, convenience stores or gas stations. Race hate crimes are even reported in prisons.

Religion

When religious hate crimes are committed, most are unknown. Not surprisingly, 15% occur outside a place of worship.

Sexual

Most sexual orientation hate crimes occur at or around home or alleys and streets. Bars and nightclubs account for 5%.

Although hate crimes are naturally better borne out by motives. As we can see in this chart below, c.70% of hate crimes are driven by actual offences – assault, vandalism, robbery, burglary, car theft, larceny, murder or rape. 30% is based on intimidation which could range from name-calling, racist bill posters to threats of violence.

Yet does a white carjacking a black or vice versa have the primary motive of race or theft? Is race sometimes not a factor but happenstance? Is the motive to steal a Ferrari or take the car because of the occupant’s skin? Yet the victim may point to the race of the perpetrator when filing the report.

Type

It is too easy to twist the data on hate crimes.

Is it possible COVID19 hate crimes will get a separate section in the 2020 FBI data series? Will there be a tidal wave of anti-Asian crimes as a result of Trump calling it the “China virus“?

We don’t think it is lost on most people where the virus originated but at the same time, we would also imagine that racists didn’t need any assistance to form bigoted views. Their narratives had plenty of ammunition to work with before Trump or the mainstream media mentioned it.

The better way to look at hate crimes is that they have fallen since 1996 when FBI data collection began. Whites now commit 48% fewer hate crimes as a proportion of their population cohort on a relative basis and 43% on an absolute basis. There has been a 37% relative and 18% absolute drop in hate crimes caused by blacks and 77% and 49% respective decline in Asian perpetrated hate crimes.

In aggregate there has been a 43% relative and 30% absolute decline in all hate crime offenders since 1996. Yet the media would have it that hate crimes are surging to unprecedented levels. Simply not true.

No wonder Jussie Smollett needed to stage a hate crime hoax.

Let us not forget when claims of racist hate crimes backfire.  An issue over alleged racism started when a student from Oberlin College was caught shoplifting two bottles of wine from Gibson’s Bakery while trying to buy another with a fake ID. Allyn Gibson, son of the owner chased down the shoplifter but was attacked by his accomplices. The perpetrators claimed racial profiling by the store. Oberlin College’s Dean of Students, Meredith Raimondo, joined in student protests calling Gibsons a “racist establishment.” It was then that Oberlin ended all business with the bakery (which had been an ongoing supplier to the college since 1885). Flyers were printed and the store attacked.

Oberlin College in Ohio was sued for defamation and charged $44.2m in damages. It was awarded by the court to Gibson’s Bakery for unsubstantiated claims of racism.

Which begs the question, just how severe were the hate crimes reported by the FBI, were they prosecuted and how many were thrown out for the lack of evidence or being unsubstantiated? That is not contained in the published FBI data.

Anti-Asian hate crime stats to date. A COVID19 surge ahead?

As with almost everything, the mainstream media want to whip up a story that anti-Asian hate crimes could surge during the current pandemic due to Trump calling it the “Chinese virus“. Never mind that the mainstream media used the term itself until it became more fashionable to turn it into a dog whistle to attack the president. Forget context and perspective when chasing clickbait.

Hate crime in America has fallen from 9,861 incidents in 1997 to 7,120 in 2018. These are official FBI stats. We’ll have to wait till November 2021 to get the official 2020 aggregated hate crime statistics unless the FBI release an interim statement.

The Hill noted,

“The FBI is assuring the public that investigating hate crimes remains a top concern amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The agency updated its guidance on COVID-19 to note that “protecting civil rights and investigating hate crimes remain a high priority for the FBI.” The update comes amid growing warnings about hate crimes targeting Asian Americans over the coronavirus.

The bureau added in an intelligence report obtained by ABC News this week that “hate crime incidents against Asian Americans likely will surge across the United States, due to the spread of coronavirus disease … endangering Asian American communities.”

According to the FBI, anti-Asian hate crime has fallen from a peak of 527 in 1996 to 148 incidents in 2018. In 2018, Asians were 0.00071% likely to suffer a hate crime relative to the Asian American population. Technically, one could argue there was a 13% surge on the 2017 figure. Why didn’t the media drum up a story on that?

After the 9/11 terrorist attack, anti-Islamic hate crimes surged from a trough of 22 before the incident to 481 in 2002. At last count, there were 188 hate crimes against the Muslim community in 2018, or 0.0076% of the representative population in America, a 31% fall on 2017.

Anti-Native American hate crimes trended at a very low level out to 2010. Since then they’ve surged from a low of 44 cases to 154 under Obama and at last count under Trump sit at 194 in 2018.

Anti Hispanic hate crime has fallen from a peak of 636 in 1997 to a trough of 299 in 2015 to 485 at last count.

Anti-Semitic hate crimes remain the highest among all religions in America. They have drifted down to a low of 609 in 2014 from the peak of 1,182 in 1996 but in 2018 saw a resurgence to 838 or 0.0147% of the representative population.

As a % of the black population, Anti-Black hate crimes have fallen from 0.0131% to 0.0046% of their racial background. In 2018 hate crimes fell 4% on 2017 to 1,943 incidents. In 1996 this figure was 4,469.

Why didn’t the media run the narrative of Zika or Ebola causing a surge in anti-African American crimes given those viruses were named after places in Africa? Surely any old excuse will do for foaming at the mouth racists.

As a % of the total population, anti-white hate crimes have slid from 0.00052% in 1996 to 0.00024% in 2018, up from 0.00016% in 2011. The media would never run a narrative that hate crimes against whites have jumped since 51% since 2011.

However, what would a surge in anti-Asian hate crimes entail in the media’s mind? With the law of small numbers, any surge won’t require much in absolute terms.

As of 2018, statistically one was 8x more likely to suffer an anti-LGBT attack than an anti-Asian hate crime in America.

In a world where smartphones are everywhere (aka amateur news reporters), it is surprising that despite this, the mainstream media hasn’t unearthed one grainy picture of a racist wailing at Asians over COVID19. Could it be the media might have to stage a Jussie Smollett hoax to drum up the narrative?

Trump Derangement Syndrome heads to the Senate

Above is a headline from the Washington Post. Only that it is dated 20 Jan 2017. Yes, that’s right. 2017. Yes, Democrats still can’t accept that Hillary lost and have had a sole purpose to impeach him on something…anything since he was inaugurated.

There are zero surprises that Trump would be impeached by the House. There will be fewer surprises that the Senate will exonerate him.

The Democrats still cling to this notion that voters shouldn’t be allowed to decide for themselves. Democracy is too dangerous in the wrong hands. We always said mud wrestling with Trump was a bad idea.

The GOP will return serve in the same manner in the Senate as was done to them in the House by the Democrats and we will hear the mainstream media indulge in more Trump Derangement Syndrome quoting Democrats screeching at how unfair it all is.

In the process, Trump gets more free 24/7 TV broadcasts while Mike Bloomberg has to battle for air on the campaign trail talking about mass shootings under Trump.

There will be a million comments out on the impeachment subject but all FNF Media can say is “never disturb an enemy when (s)he’s making a mistake.”

Trump 2020. The Democrats are really do suffer from a mental disorder. Looking forward to WaPo’s unbiased coverage and fact checking department which should unite with CNN to tell Americans that President Trump is an evil man.
