Time we stood up to the Hyde Park Taliban

A Black Lives Matter (BLM) protester who confessed to writing Churchill “was a fascist” on the base of his statue said he did it because he believed he was a ‘confirmed racist who cared more about colonialism than black people.

To think of all those other colonialist white supremacists who sacrificed their lives in WWII to provide the very freedoms that allowed him to do it. For if the other chap had won, he wouldn’t have the luxury of boasting after defacing his plinth.

Had our vandal studied history he might have learnt that Churchill was a dreadful totalitarian having been booted out of office soon after the war. Never mind. Churchill was white and that is grounds enough to attack him.

In all seriousness, the left continues to find new ways to become ever more unhinged. They are prepared to erase history, so long is it fits their own distorted image of whatever the Ministry or Truth dictates. Instead of learning the significance of past events they want Day 1, Year zero now.

Remember when ISIL razed Palmyra in Syria to the ground in 2015? The UNESCO World Heritage site was bombed for displaying artifacts it deemed “polytheistic” or “pagan.” Palmyra contained the monumental ruins of a great city that was one of the most important cultural centres of the ancient world. Gone.

The Taliban fired tank shells at the majestic Bamiyan Buddhist statues in 2001 before realizing explosives were required to complete the job. Destroyed. For what?

Ahh, but didn’t the Iraqis pull down Saddam Hussein’s statue? A bit different given they had been living under his brutal dictatorship for decades.

In Australia, there are now calls to remove statues of Captain Cook and Gov Phillip for their links to our colonial past. We went through this nonsense years ago when the American left were protesting confederate statues of Gen. Robert E Lee after the Charlottesville unrest.

George Floyd’s death has now rebooted the cause inviting our activists in Australia to hijack the race card being played elsewhere to legitimize their hostility and get a day out with their friends.

Sadly, too many politicians around the world are cowering to the mob. Afraid to say anything. Taking virtual knees. Closing their eyes and hoping things will pass instead of pushing back and telling these people that we need to recognize our past.

To be honest, BLM is just a new boiler plate which provides a convenient shield for these cultural Marxists to carry out their petty vendettas based on their own self loathing.

Black economist and sociologist Thomas Sowell said, “More whites were brought as slaves to North Africa than blacks brought as slaves to the United States or to the 13 colonies from which it was formed. White slaves were still being bought and sold in the Ottoman Empire, decades after blacks were freed in the United States.

Yet it doesn’t fit the narrative.

We live in a world dictated by those who wish to outdo each other in the oppression olympics. Pre-coronavirus we were living in times of unprecedented freedoms and economic prosperity. How sad that these apparatchiks want to take is straight back to the very world they tell we must reject.

Colonialism and Comcars

Senator Mattias Cormann has admitted he was behind the decision to change the colour of our government Comcars – which ferry politicians around – from white to dark grey in order to remove any remnants of our colonial past, which in his words were “a better reflection of a modern, forward-looking Australia.” Forget the fact that most government cars were painted black, including Sir Robert Menzies’ Bentley (above). Might have been better to channel the founder of the Liberal Party as inspiration instead some woke nonsense. Or just let the drivers, who need to clean and maintain the vehicles, choose.

Seriously though, what % of Australians have ever thought that our white Comcars harked to a colonial past? Best put it to a plebiscite and waste more time.

Dark Grey? Isn’t that a gloomy hue? Should Aussies prepare for dark days ahead? Truth be told the colour is probably quite representative of where our economy is heading, even without coronavirus.

Interestingly, according to car insurer youi,

Our accident frequency research reveals that dark coloured cars are more likely to be in an accident than lighter coloured cars, likely because they are less visible to other drivers on the road. Grey coloured cars topped the list, followed by black and charcoal.

Who says that politicians don’t make sacrifices for us?

If we study where the proportion of cars coloured in colonial white is highest, perhaps parliament should be spending up big on a reeducation program in Tasmania for their unconscious colonialism. youi claimed,

Tasmania has the highest percentage of white cars at 33.80% versus the national average of 30.45% (silver 19.4%, blue 11.29%)

White cars seem to be connected to toxic masculinity too. Best run a campaign on unconscious sexism if youi is to be believed.

Compared to females, white is more popular for males relative to other colours (34.34% for males, 26.46% for females)

Take it a step further and question how much more Cormann could have done to reduce the racist footprints of colonialism.

Why are we buying cars from a maker that powered the Nazi Luftwaffe, SS and Wehrmacht, based in a nation that at the time was hell-bent on world domination and genocide? If we went for Lexus or Toyota we’d be buying cars built by a country that was also determined to colonize The Pacific. Jaguars or Range Rovers would be off the list, even though the Indians now own the brands. Rolls-Royce & Bentley are German-owned. Italians were colonialists. Maserati, Fiat, Lancia and Alfa Romeo banned. The French? Colonialists. Renault and Peugeot-Citroen are out. The Spanish? Colonialists. No SEATs, although that is owned by the Germans. America? Someone is bound to raise an issue with their CIA operative endorsed post-war military hegemony. So no Caddies, Fords or GM cars, especially after the axing of the Holden brand. China? Buying Haval or Great Wall cars would at the very least cut down on the overall cost of Comcars, especially with the generous 10-yr unlimited kilometre extended warranty.  That is how we cut the budget deficit.

Maybe we should just buy Volvos. Maybe that way we could appeal to be supporting the home team of climate activist, Greta Thunberg to shore up the youth vote while acknowledging that the Viking hordes of 1000 years ago was far back enough in history to upset anyone today. If we’re lucky, the Swedish Riksbank may consider buying our sovereign debt again

Seriously, haven’t our pollies got anything better to do than conjure up such illogical nonsense like this? Given we’re at this level of discourse, perhaps walking, cycling or public transport would be a better bet for our lawmakers. At the very least it would put them in touch with how commoners live.

Deutsche Bahn trolls Greta’s gullibility

No photo description available.

Well, well, well. At the very least Greta Thunberg has all of the characteristics of a gullible teenager. The railway company, Deutsche Bahn, decided to give the recalcitrant Swede a taste of reality by pointing out her cheeky stab at overcrowded trains when she was actually riding in 1st Class. So much for her statement about patriarchal systems of oppression.

After all, the climate crisis is not just about the environment. It is a crisis of human rights, of justice, and of political will. Colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression have created and fueled it. We need to dismantle them all. Our political leaders can no longer shirk their responsibilities.

Just when we thought the Germans lacked a sense of humour.

Time indulges another totalitarian voice for the 2019 Person of the Year

16yo climate alarmist Greta Thunberg defines our age. As many of you know, she has been awarded Time’s 2019 Person of the Year. Sort of fitting given the magazine has a tendency to hand it to those that speak in totalitarian tones (not her own of course). Recently, she dropped the following statement,

After all, the climate crisis is not just about the environment. It is a crisis of human rights, of justice, and of political will. Colonial, racist, and patriarchal systems of oppression have created and fueled it. We need to dismantle them all. Our political leaders can no longer shirk their responsibilities.

One doesn’t have to be a teenager either to formulate such views. It wasn’t so long ago that an 11-yo implored all climate activists to go beyond the battle for global warming and fight for gun control, LGBTQ+ rights and to demand that her teachers can receive a living wage. How dare we even question where she got such thoughts! Kids just know better than we selfish adults (who used to recycle milk bottles, wash diapers and push lawnmowers) who have trashed their planet!

FNFM has always felt pity for poor Greta and written so on multiple occasions. She has been systematically abused by authoritarian adults to push their ridiculous globalist agenda. Knowing that it is uncool to attack a kid, she makes the perfect human shield. She is the participation trophy personified. Her “how dare you” assertions are never challenged by the media who toss softball questions to further deify this high priestess of the climate change movement. We must not challenge and inevitably we will probably lose our right to do so thanks to the cancel culture amongst the youth today. Such blasphemy won’t be tolerated.

No one can deny the passion with which she has embraced her cause even if not completely aware of the hypocrisy created by it. While the gesture of sailing on carbon-based yachts across the Atlantic and back to save the planet in order to slash her carbon footprint was noble, the reality is that she would have lowered the aggregate carbon footprint by jumping a scheduled flight that was taking off anyway. Why, because the boat owners had to fly sailors across the ocean to make it a reality. Yet we can calculate her potential impact:

If we assume Greta’s weight around 35-40kg, it would mean she would add 0.016% to the fuel calculations a Boeing 777 pilot would have to account for. Her impact would be so minuscule as to beggar belief.

280 million trips were made by commercial aircraft last year according to the IATA. Her transatlantic return flight would only be 2 of those meaning she would represent 0.000000714% of all annual flights taken.

Given that airlines, by the IATA’s own stats, annually produce the equivalent to 2% of all man-made emissions or 0.000016% in total, her two flights would make up around 0.0000000000114%. That is slightly unfair as the journey would be longer than most flights (predominantly short-haul). So if e bumped it 4-fold, her return trip would have penalized the planet 0.0000000000007314%.

Thunberg has amassed 3.2m Twitter followers. It is an incredible feat in and of itself. However, FNFM worries that with all of this social media exposure, when none of the prophetic doom and gloom she parrots comes to pass by the deadlines set by climate alarmists, she might realise she has been summarily duped by the very people who have actually “stolen her childhood.”

Unfortunately, she is blissfully blind to being amidst the epicentre of 27,000 hypocritical climate catastrophists at the COP25 summit, most of who flew in to tell us how we all must save the planet (on their behalf). In that sense, it is wonderful to know there is still some innocence left.

If only she knew that her climate change evangelism has thrust the ‘save the planet‘ agenda back on the map, leading to the 21% surge in delegates over the Katowice (COP24) conference. If she wants to fight against those who have “stolen her dreams” they are right in front of her.

Many of her critics suggest she should go back to school. FNFM disagrees. What is the point of sending Greta back to the very institutions that planted the seeds of this Marxist indoctrination in the first place?

To be honest, if we are to submit to the whims of teenagers who know all there is to know, we should close down our universities because there is simply no value in tertiary education, especially now that these centres for open thinking are muzzling it on campus.

Maybe one day, when Greta has a teenager of her own (assuming she doesn’t try to avoid having kids to save the planet), she will see for herself what we knew all along.

As the old saying goes. “Experience is a hard teacher. You get the test first and the lesson afterwards.

Woodie Guthrie, that evil white supremacist

It is unlikely that Woodie Guthrie ever channeled his inner racist when he penned ‘This land is your land‘. Yet native rights activist Mali Obomsawin said his lyrics,

…as they are embraced today evoke Manifest Destiny and expansionism (‘this land was made for you and me’). When sung as a political act, the gathering or demonstration is infused with anti-Nativism and reinforces the blind spot.

Just to clear the air, the lyrics (also sung by African-American Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings)

This land is your land, this land is my land
From the California to the New York island
From the Redwood Forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me
As I went walking that ribbon of highway
I saw above me that endless skyway
And saw below me that golden valley
This land was made for you and me
I roamed and rambled and I followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts
And all around me , a voice was sounding
This land was made for you and me
When the sun comes shining, then I was strolling
In the wheat fields waving and dust clouds rolling
The voice was chanting as the fog was lifting
This land was made for you and me
This land…”
So it is hardly anything more than Aussies celebrating in our own national anthem the words, “our land abounds in nature’s gifts of beauty, rich and rare”
Although Obomsawin contends,

This land ‘was’ our land, through genocide, broken treaties, and a legal system created by and for the colonial interest, this land ‘became’ American land. But to question the legitimacy of American land control today instantly makes one the most radical person in the room–even in leftist circles. And because Indigenous critiques of this country are so fundamental, our voices are often marginalized to the point of invisibility.By critiquing ‘This Land Is Your Land,’…I don’t mean to imply that Guthrie himself promoted conquest, but the song is indicative of American leftists’ role in Native invisibility

As Alyssa Duvall points out, “How do these people not walk into more telephone poles when they’re so busy watching out for racism, overt or covert, everywhere?”

Should we repeat history (the other way around of course) to save the planet?

Where do they come up with this garbage? According to researchers at the University College of London, (UCL) the main reason for a cooler planet was due to European colonizers murdering 56 million Native Americans. Who knew that the heartless barbarian settler thinking to reforest farmlands across North, Central and South America also assisted in a drop in CO2 levels which caused the mini ice age? Colonization had its flaws, no doubt, but can there be any credibility in mass murder as a catalyst For lowering temperatures?

UCL Geography Professor Mark Maslin said,

For once, we’ve been able to balance all the boxes and realize that the only way the Little Ice Age was so intense is … because of the genocide of millions of people,

By that logic, how come the 100 million+ people killed under socialism, not to mention the other 100 million or so that died in war over the past century have not led to similar cooling effects?

Why not destroy all of the medical journals and scientific breakthroughs which have reduced infant mortality, cured disease and extended life expectancy? Surely these brilliant minds are the first to be put to the stake. Prolonging average ages and improving survival rates of new borns. The heresy! They’re all closet climate deniers – the lot of them deserve public humiliation and re-education inside concentration camps. Got to get people dying sooner.

Perhaps we don’t just need renewable energy. We need history to repeat itself based on the in depth guess work of UCL. Why waste time trying to control bovine flatulence and force electric vehicle adoption to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees by 2030 when genocide (not war) has shown to be so effective in the past?

It is hard not to read the UCL piece as anything other than a stab at white supremacy over centuries. Presumably Europeans should be willingly prepared to give up their lives without complaint to atone the sins of colonialism at the hands of their forebears. A European cultural revolution?

In this day and age of identity politics, even genocide against whites has already been deemed acceptable to the apparatchiks. White South African farmers are Exhibit A.

No surprise that CNN chose to highlight the research. When the narrative is pre-formed, best find anything, no matter how absurd to push the alarmism.

Midwives, check your white privilege

54509EFF-E678-4737-9523-E0F8CB0B3341.jpeg

The Code of Conduct from the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia has some interesting clauses regarding nurses acknowledging our colonialist past and check our white privelege. Who knew that bringing people into the world requires nurses to undergo such PC nonsense and reeducation on something they do out of love and passion? What happened in all the child births to date that required professionals to pass identity criteria before ‘helping’? What if the selected midwife that ticks the boxes comes down with the flu and the patient goes into emergency labour due to an unforeseen complication? Does the baby’s life or the identity of the replacement midwife take priority? See below.

3.2 Culturally safe and respectful practice

Culturally safe and respectful practice requires having knowledge of how a midwife’s own culture, values, attitudes, assumptions and beliefs influence their interactions with women and families, the community and colleagues. To ensure culturally safe and respectful practice, midwives must:

a. understand that only the woman and/or her family can determine whether or not care is culturally safe and respectful.

b. respect diverse cultures, beliefs, gender identities, sexualities and experiences of women and others, including among team members.

c. acknowledge the social, economic, cultural, historic and behavioural factors influencing health, both at the individual, community and population levels.

d. adopt practices that respect diversity, avoid bias, discrimination and racism, and challenge belief based upon assumption (for example, based on gender, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, age or political beliefs).

e. support an inclusive environment for the safety and security of the individual woman and her family and/or significant others, and

f. create a positive, culturally safe work environment through role modelling, and supporting the rights, dignity and safety of others, including women and colleagues.

When my second daughter was born not for one second did the midwife’s identity play any role. Yet somehow we must now indoctrinate PC lunacy inside our hospitals. Surely safe deliveries are 100% of the mission. Not submitting to the whims of someone who subjectively sees themselves as something they’re not. Why can’t we just evaluate nurses on their abilities rather than search for ways to make them tick all the identity boxes to fit a structure that has not been required for millennia?
