Six F-1 drivers take a stand against hypocrisy

Before the Austrian F-1 GP, Max Verstappen, Antonio Giovinazzi, Daniil Kvyat, Carlo Sainz, Charles Leclerc and Kimi Raikkonen chose to stand while 14 other drivers took the knee in support of BLM.

Good to see that some sports stars aren’t prepared to be shamed into political stunts especially one driven (no pun intended) by one of the biggest hypocrites in the paddock, who drives for a manufacturer with a history of slavery.

As we pointed out last week, Aussie driver Daniel Ricciardo perfectly summed up the fear of being cancelled for not speaking up.

Here’s betting all 14 kneelers haven’t even read the reprehensible Marxist manifesto of #BLM movement they knelt for.

We can’t wait for the next woke cause. It will probably be surrounding climate change. Just think of how mothers dropping their kids off to soccer practice in a second hand SUVs will be chastised by these F-1 kneelers as they whiz around tracks in 5mpg race cars. Never mind that they came to the circuit in helicopters after landing at a nearby airport on private jets post spending half the season in coronavirus lockdown on 300ft super yachts with bikini clad supermodels.

Americans should be more afraid of Doctors than the Police

Americans should be far more petrified of their surgeons than of the police. Of the 50,000,000 engagements by police each year in America, only 0.002% result in deaths at the hands of cops. Americans are 254x more likely to die from medical errors than from rogue law enforcement officers.

Civilian assaults of police officers total c.48,000 per annum. Note c.9,700 or those involve deadly weapons (guns, knives, swords, axe, motor vehicles, shovels, bats, pipes). 13,700 officers that receive injuries require medical treatment.

Note that of the 990 people killed by police per annum, 250 are black, a majority of them armed. Therefore blacks have a 0.00064% chance of death at the hands of the police. In other words, 99.9994% chance of not being killed by law enforcement. So the narrative that they are all trigger happy lunatics is patently false.

2,600 blacks are killed by other blacks according to FBI data. That is a 0.0064% chance. Or 99.994% chance of dying at the hands of another black perpetrator. Blacks are 55x more likely to be murdered by another black than a white perpetrator. These are just facts.

A great movie worth streaming is ‘Uncle Tom‘ which beats down the narrative portrayed in the media of the black minority.

AOC admits why Dems picked Joe Biden

AOC

Democrat Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) in response to Republican Senator Ted Cruz’s tweet that the ‘Democrats support “riots”, “vandals” and “anarchists“‘ by tweeting it being exactly why they “nominated…Joe Biden.”

She has yet to respond to Cruz’ follow up tweet here.

Are we witnessing sporting suicide?

People used to be able to watch sports in order to be able escape financial stress, relationship pressure, horrible bosses or politics for a couple of hours. Now politics comes as standard and is being actively shoved straight in paying customers’ faces.

The NBA has just announced it will paint “Black Lives Matter” on the courtside.

Retired NFL defensive end Marcellus Wiley explained why he thought it is a bad idea for the NBA to do it based on the divisive manifesto of BLM.

This follows on from the NFL’s pandering to identity politics and promotion of segregation by introducing a “black national anthem” before Week 1 games.

As one astute reader posted this with respect to the NFL post we wrote today,

If this causes a loss of attendance will the excuse be that those missing were therefore racist? And how does that help pay the bills? What will be the steps taken to address shortfalls in revenue ? Presumably reductions in salaries and jobs to those whose livelihood depends on the attendance?

This is a very emotive issue and no one is denying that it is not an important one but enforcing dictats onto paying customers is never a good idea – asking for help to change is better than demanding change and alienating a section of society who for the most part were already onside -you cannot force their cooperation – you will just make reasonable people unreasonable.

We think the NBA and NFL are making extremely poor decisions. As corporations they have that right but since when has treating customers with contempt been a good strategy?? Gillette anyone?

We wrote a piece on the divisive nature of sports being ruined by political activism a few weeks back.

Harvard graduate who threatened to stab people missed lecture on personal responsibility

Harvard graduate Claira Janover has lost her job at Deloitte after she went on a TikTok rant saying she’d stab people who said “all lives matter” and watch them bleed out.

Who knew?

She made a follow up video complaining that horrible Trump supporters cost her that job.

Welcome to 2020 where personal responsibility doesn’t exist. Saying stupid things (even if in jest) with the hope of boosting social media following in the attempts to appeal to being woke to win approval is somehow acceptable.

Harvard could never have given her the lesson she has given herself. Self-entitlement 101 could be a course they need to build into the ethics curriculum.

Nursing school dean fired for saying “Everyone’s life matters”

Welcome to 2020.

University of Massachusetts-Lowell Dean of Nursing Leslie Neal-Boylan has been fired for sending this email:

“Dear SSON Community,

I am writing to express my concern and condemnation of the recent (and past) acts of violence against people of color. Recent events recall a tragic history of racism and bias that continue to thrive in this country. I despair for our future as a nation if we do not stand up against violence against anyone. BLACK LIVES MATTER, but also, EVERYONE’S LIFE MATTERS. No one should have to live in fear that they will be targeted for how they look or what they believe.”

After a student going by the Twitter handle, @psychohighrep complained,

“An upsetting statement made by the Dean of Nursing at UMass Lowell, including the statement ‘all lives matter’ was uncalled for and shows the narrow-minded people in lead positions. A sad day to be a nursing student at UML. Dean Leslie Neal-Boylan your words will not be forgotten.

The university responded with:

Haley – Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The university hears you and we believe black lives matter. See the letter the chancellor sent out Monday.

Then a university spokesperson wrote,

The university ended the employment of Dr. Neal-Boylan on June 19 after 10 months in her role as dean of the Solomont School of Nursing. As with all such decisions, it was made in the best interest of the university and its students.

Neal-Boylan wrote to university Provost Julie Nash,

It is important to point out that no one ever gave me an opportunity to share my views of how the college and school were interacting nor explain myself regarding the BLM email. My meeting with you, [Dean] Shortie [McKinney], and Lauren Turner was clearly not intended to give me an opportunity to defend my actions. I was condemned without trial.

So much for the “visionary leader” that Neal-Boylan was portrayed as when she took on the role.

This is the sinister world we find ourselves in. Speech is compelled.  In another time this would be ruled constructive dismissal. Now it is par for the course. It is a warning – our free speech is under threat, even when as innocuous as Dr Neal-Boylan’s comments.

Yet a Cambridge professor keeps her job for saying #WhiteLivesDontMatter

Clearly #AllLivesDontMatter. Tertiary educations are truly hijacked by the left.

Where is BLM?

Where is #BlackLivesMatter? Six children have been killed just in the last week to gun violence in Chicago. BLM has been silent. Don’t all black lives matter?

On South Michigan Ave near 116th St, a shrine has been erected in memory of Chicago children killed by gunfire. 100s are inscribed in stones.

We posted a video of Nestride Yumga who pointed out the movement’s hypocrisy here.

Truly tragic. Where is the mainstream media reporting on this?

F-1 driver Ricciardo proves Hamilton’s hypocrisy

GettyImages-1175706475.jpg

6x World F-1 champion Lewis Hamilton has decided shaming his fellow drivers for not speaking up is a thing. Hamilton wrote on Instagram,

I see those of you who are staying silent, some of you the biggest of stars yet you stay silent in the midst of injustice. Not a sign from anybody in my industry which of course is a white-dominated sport.

Australian F-1 driver Daniel Ricciardo folded to the pressure noting,

I’ve certainly learned a lot the last few weeks…I’ve been reading, I’ve been watching and it’s opened my eyes. I’ve learnt that just because you might not consider yourself a racist or a person of conflict, that’s not enough. You have to speak up, you have to educate yourself and others around you because what I understood is, being silent is part of the problem…I felt a bit… I don’t know if it’s guilty or just like, ‘How can I be so naïve to everything that’s been going on?’. And it’s not only the last few weeks, but it’s been months, it’s been years. It is good that finally more of the world is getting exposed to it and people are behind it. Also, understanding that it’s okay to speak up, you’re not going to be judged, you’re not going to be criticised, and I think because of the volume of everyone getting involved, and all races getting involved, that’s been really powerful.”

Hey Daniel, you hit the nail right on the head. If you don’t speak up, you get judged and criticized by a hypocrite who collects a £40million annual paycheck from a company that has a history of slavery that has invested in him since he was 13 which happens to provide a superior racecar so a highly talented driver who happens to be a person of colour can obliterate his rivals in a “white-dominated sport.”

Defeating COVID19 with more racism

In order to fight COVID19, Lincoln County in Oregon has exempted non-white people from a new order requiring that face coverings be worn in public in order to prevent racial profiling.

Who knew that a virus could be killed with racism?

If this is the extent of oppression, the war is almost won, no?

Redskins

It is hard to keep up with the cancel culture – ripping down statues of historic figures who freed slaves, cancelling 80 year-old movies, banning comedies, stopping production of skin creams, renaming pancake syrup, and now children’s candy. So many products that nobody raised a whimper over for decades now all of a sudden have been deemed racist and we are drowning in nauseating woke apologies from corporate PR departments, many of whom have highly challenged pasts themselves meaning they are in no position to lecture the rest of us.

Now Australian candies, Redskins and Chicos will be renamed. Nestle, the owner of the Allens brand, wrote,

This decision acknowledges the need to ensure that nothing we do marginalises our friends, neighbours and colleagues...the names have overtones which are out of step with Nestle’s values, which are rooted in respect.

Can Nestle give us a comprehensive list of the number of complaints made because of these names? Has anyone seriously been triggered in their local supermarket when buying these products?

We wonder whether these acts have less to do with racism and more to do with polishing tarnished reputations unrelated to BLM. This site lists 10 most outrageous Nestle scandals. We have not verified these claims.

Seriously, if the name of candies or skin creams is the extent of the oppression of minorities, the war on racism has been largely won, no?

We wrote a while back about the removal of the Chief Wahoo caricature from the Cleveland Indians’ uniform, used since 1915,  by activist pressure.

Douglas Cardinal, an indigenous Canadian activist who pushed for the Cleveland team logo change said that “I had been thinking about the problems we have as a community with the issue of suicide, and I think there is a direct correlation between these kinds of depictions of our people as inferior and as caricatures to be mocked. It is wrong and it must stop.

Remember the same noise was made about the name of the Washington Redskins NFL team. Why not listen to the Native American community? In May 2016, the heavily left-leaning WaPo released a poll targeted at self-identified Native Americans which produced the same results as the Annenberg poll of 2004. That is 90% of the respondents were “not bothered” by the team’s name.

Perhaps the question should be put back to the activists. Can they guarantee that after the removal of the stigma caused by these supposedly inappropriate product names that alcohol-related deaths, diabetes and tuberculosis, which are way above the national average, will plummet? Will the highest rate of intimate partner violence or child abuse and neglect among the Native American community fall off a cliff by the removal of the name of candy in Australia? After all, it is they who push the idea of direct correlation. If nothing changes, what will have been the point of all this virtue signalling?

Hypocrisy in the way the West deals with (certain) faiths is rife too. The tragedy that was the Christchurch terror attack has led the Canterbury Crusaders rugby team to reconsider its name so as not to offend Muslims. Devout Muslim Sonny Bill Williams even played for the side after his conversion to Islam. Didn’t seem to phase him and he didn’t protest once. Although he did take exception to the Bank of NZ sponsorship displayed on his uniform as it conflicted with his religious beliefs.

Where have those same activists been to bully The Saracens in Middlesex to select a more palatable name for the sake of countless victims of Islamic terror in the UK?

What we do know to be an absolute truth is that whatever we cede to the mob, it will never be enough.
