AF Branco nails it.
AF Branco nails it.
An Oregon lady caught an arsonist in the act and exercised her second amendment rights to hold the individual under citizen’s arrest until the police arrived.
As Bernie Sanders and the left keep banging on about climate change being behind the bushfires, once again, arson is a large factor. Joe Biden gave a speech saying that the US risks being destroyed by fires, floods and hurricanes.
We wrote about the causes of bushfires during Australia’s recent disaster here.
In short, coronavirus has run its scaremongering course so it is now time to rachet up global warming again. We imagine Greta Thunberg will he invited on Zoom to do a town hall with Biden.
Never mind the right to defend oneself if the circuit attorney is an activist hell-bent on twisting the law to fit an agenda. St Louis CA Kim Gardner said at the time of the incident that she would find something in Missouri law to prosecute the McCloskeys, the couple who kept 300 “peaceful protestors” who forced entry onto private property with an AR-15 and a pistol.
Apparently, she is classifying the self-defence as a felony which carries up to a four-year jail term. Never mind that they had been threatened with being murdered and their property being burnt to the ground. The police couldn’t attend and private security didn’t want to be involved. No shots were fired. Nobody was hurt.
Still, CA Gardner, so eager to stop systemic racism found no fault with what she claims is a white on black crime. Never mind that the mob comprised of many racial backgrounds. Never mind that they were trespassing. Forget that they broke the gate. Forget the tweet where one of the mob leaders openly intended to trash the McCloskey’s property. What did race have to do with it? If the McCloskeys were anything other than white, Garnder wouldn’t have sought to press charges??
If the radical left mobsters had the mandate to promote the 2nd Amendment they couldn’t have done a better job.
We think such wilfully activist judiciaries only help put Trump back in the White House in November. If a couple is going to be prosecuted for defending private property, what hope has anyone got of getting a fair trial? The only way to stop it is to vote it out.
Utterly shameless. Welcome to identity politics under the law. 2020 is so twisted that somehow equality under the law is now viewed as discrimination. Please note we wrote about activist DAs earlier this month. Please refer to this link.
This is a picture of 88-yo May Boyce who was arrested for aggravated assault after shooting a man who tried to rob her liquor store. Her gun was confiscated by police.
Boyce has owned Murfreesboro Road Liquor and Wines in Nashville, Tennessee, since 1994. She opens and closes the store six days a week by herself.
Boyce claimed the victim, identified as Ramon Fisher, “lunged” at her after picking up a bottle and started to head for the exit.
Fisher originally confessed to police that he and his friend had intended to steal from the store, but later amended the story and said they intended to pay for it. Presumably they intended to pay for it after Fisher was shot.
Interesting how the police call Fisher the “victim.” Imagine if he just paid for it like a normal customer then he wouldn’t be nursing a bullet hole. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Oh, and you’ll never guess what party the mayor of Nashville, who runs the police, is from. Democrat.
Should the 88-yo be given a life sentence or a medal for defending her business because two thugs thought she would be too frail to possess a Smith & Wesson snub nose .38 let alone fire it?
St Louis law enforcement has served a warrant on the McCloskeys, the couple that defended their home and confiscated the automatic rifle that was used to defend it after 300 protestors trespassed on private property. We wrote about activist DAs here.
How wonderful that the government decided to treat them as the common criminals even though McCloskey had an official permit for the weapon and has no history of committing any felonies.
Presumably the Democratic Mayor and DA can celebrate if the McCloskey family home burns to the ground. They have since had to hire private security.
Talk about government overreach. This is what the Democrats are signaling they want for ordinary, hard working Americans. Shut up and fall into line.
As Mark D Robison once said, “I’m the majority…yet every time something happens we’re the last ones considered and the first ones punished.”
Alongside Black Lives Matter (BLM) leaders, the United Teachers Los Angeles (UTLA) union demanded that the police force in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) be eliminated to stop white supremacy.
The incoming president of UTLA, Cecily Myart-Cruz stated,
“We have to dismantle white supremacy…We must defund the police and bring in the mental health services that our students need.“
The police union unsurprisingly pushed back noting they are there to prevent violence, act as peacemakers in school districts where gangs are prevalent
Two years ago we wrote with respect to security in schools:
A 2017 study by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) reported the following,
“In the 2013–14 school year, 93% of public schools reported that they controlled access to school buildings by locking or monitoring doors during school hours. Other safety and security measures reported by public schools included the use of security cameras to monitor the school (75%), a requirement that faculty and staff wear badges or picture IDs (68%), and the enforcement of a strict dress code (58%). In addition, 24% of public schools reported the use of random dog sniffs to check for drugs, 20% required that students wear uniforms, 9% required students to wear badges or picture IDs, and 9% used random metal detector checks.”
Breaking down some of the categories in the chart 5.5% of primary schools use sniffer dogs to check for drugs!! Over half of high schools have random drug searches. 9% of high schools have metal detectors.
In 1994, the federal government began requiring schools to introduce safety programs in an attempt to crack down on violence on school grounds. Many schools introduced metal detectors to check for guns, knives and other weapons. The year after the measures were introduced, violent deaths on high school campuses across the United States halved.
We also wrote a piece debunking the narrative by The New York Times that said that teachers were racially profiling kids at school when it came to discipline.
We remind our readers of a man by the name of Andrew Pollack who lost his daughter in the Parkland, Florida school shooting in 2018. He spoke of his concern of the current push by Democrats in Minneapolis and Portland to get police out of schools.
“My daughter Meadow was murdered in the Parkland school shooting on February 14, 2018. There was a school resource officer on duty. He was a coward and hid. Not all cops are good men. Without a real policeman on duty, the shooter had 11 minutes in a building with 800 kids all to himself…
…What you might not know is what happened before and what happened next.
The media wanted to use Parkland as an opportunity to attack President Donald Trump and advance their gun control agenda. But as I explain in my book Why Meadow Died: The People and Policies that Created the Parkland Shooter and Endanger America’s Students, the Parkland shooting wasn’t caused by the Second Amendment. It was caused by identity politics.
The Democrat-run Broward school district blamed teachers and school resource officers for racial disparities in school discipline and arrests. So they formally decriminalized misdemeanours (three freebie misdemeanours a year, re-setting every year) and informally decriminalized felonies. They also tied school resource officers’ hands and told school administrators to refuse to cooperate with local law enforcement.
The Parkland shooter committed many crimes in school: he threatened to kill, committed hate-crime assault, trespassed on school grounds after he got kicked out. No arrests. By design. No criminal record.
The school district lied to the public. They stonewalled the press. They threatened would-be whistleblowers. When Parkland parents started to learn the truth, they demanded accountability in a series of meetings at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School (MSD) with Broward Superintendent Robert Runcie.
Shortly after that, the Broward school district announced a public meeting. Runcie’s deputy sent an e-mail to local black church leaders telling them that the rhetoric they heard at MSD was “vile” stuff like they hadn’t heard “since desegregation orders were enforced.” It was a lie. When challenged, they provided no evidence to back their race-baiting claim.”
Sinister. However, this is what they are pushing for. Do parents really want their kids at risk? Do #StudentLivesMatter?
Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser set a wonderful example last week in trying to end racism. She renamed the area out the front of the White House, ‘Black Lives Matter Plaza‘ and scrawled it in huge yellow letters on the bitumen as a two-fingered salute to President Trump.
Unfortunately, despite her attempts to show solidarity, Black Lives Matter DC cracked her over the head for “appeasing white liberals”. So the mob decided to express their own artistic expression by copying her virtue signalling with ‘Defund the Police’ while dancing to cheerful singing.
How ironic that these protestors were protected by the very police they wish to have abolished? We wonder how the officers must have felt providing a safe environment to the very people who wish to strip them of their livelihoods right from under their noses?
One imagines if a group painted ‘All Lives Matter’ on the pavement, they would be met with hostility and violence.
We wonder how the demands of the left will play out ahead of the election?
Does anyone in the Democratic Party think that Americans will be prepared to give up their rights under the 2nd Amendment when they are advocating for defunding and disbanding the police forces around the country? Perhaps they might look at the surge in gun sales as a good guide as to the public perception of these moves. Note that gun sales hit an all-time record during coronavirus with 3.7mn checks in March, 3x the level of March 2019. One imagines the “defund the police” movement will send it higher again.
Will Americans gladly accept the premise made by Democrat politicians like Lisa Bender in Minneapolis who tells them that having a police force is a privilege and removing it is necessary to “dismantle white supremacy“? She might be able to argue in time that her policy drove home prices down to more significantly more ‘affordable’ levels. And the very program Bender lauds the success of hasn’t stemmed violence. Despite the number of shootings among people targeted by her intervention program staying level between 2018 and 2019, police stats showed the overall number of people wounded or killed by gunfire in the city increased from 244 to 269. Homicide was up 55% in the period.
Should Americans believe Minnesota House Rep. Ilhan Omar support to defund the police when she said, “we must completely dismantle the Minneapolis Police Departent…and allow for something beautiful to rise” Murder? Rape? Robbery? Car theft? You know, the crime rates which are already twice the national average and 4x Minnesota. Pfft. Feelings matter more than facts.
Will pictures of Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden kneeling send messages to the electorate of someone committed to keeping law and order?
Will we see a rebirth of vigilante groups like the Guardian Angels who dealt with crime in NYC during the 1980s?
White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany spoke yesterday about the heroic deeds of the police around the country just last year. It is worth watching their selfless service from the 26 min 40-sec mark.
Why can’t the Democrats see that these open displays of weakness are handing Trump the election on a platter? Can’t they see just how terrible they look as an alternative? If he is bad as the media claims, they’d be safer doing nothing.
As Napoleon once said, “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.“
What the mainstream media wanted you to believe – white supremacy, violence, far right extremists and militia groups.
What actually happened is contained in the video below and the 1 min 50 sec mark will have you in stitches over the dig at identity politics. One could almost be forgiven for thinking the mainstream media was disappointed that the rally didn’t turn ugly.
You be the judge.
Only in America. The Alpine Shooting Range has taken Walmart’s decision not to sell handgun ammo into its own hands. It is now selling it by the pound from a dispenser like we used to buy candy.
Yet what of the stats of gun crime in America?
There are 50,000 (mostly individual) gun stores in the US. 95% of firearm related murders are committed with handguns. Statistically, America would be better off banning sales of pistols rather than AR-15s. Say automatic rifles are banned from today. What will change? Handgun murders will move closer to 100%. Good luck buying back 300m+ guns in America.
According to the Crime Prevention Research Center, murders in US appear to be very concentrated: 54% of US counties (representing 11% of the population) in 2014 had zero murders, 2% of counties made up 51% of the murders, ironically in states with the strictest gun controls – Illinois, NY and California.
Yet America has had decades of periods where governments had majorities in both houses and nothing was done on gun control. We’ve experienced Orlando, Las Vegas, Sandy Hook, Columbine, Parkland, Fort Hood, El Paso, Dayton, San Bernardino, Virginia Tech, Geneva County, Aurora…the list goes on.
Moves by sporting goods stores like Dick’s to ban AR sales and raise the age limit to 21yo looked sensible from the outside. However, they had multiple massacres over decades to make that call. The current CEO has been in charge since 1984. Why the u-turn in his conscience? Indeed the company did temporarily suspend sales of ARs after Sandy Hook in 2012 but kept retailing them at the company’s Field & Stream outlets before selling them again at Dick’s. Inconsistent.
Recall the Parkland, Florida school shooting. At the time media outlets went all guns blazing on the National Rifle Association (NRA), CM warned that it most likely would cause a knee jerk reaction in the opposite direction. We speculated that the hike in membership fee likely reflected a surge in members. As tragic as the Parkland massacre was, CM said that ‘shaming’ NRA members en masse would only make them dig in deeper. As it turns out searches for NRA membership surged 4900% immediately after the tragedy. People are sick and tired of being bullied into feeling guilty about things they haven’t caused.
39,773 died from gun-related death in America in 2018. The highest number in 20 years. Statistically speaking ‘massacres’ accounted for only 106 deaths in 2018 or 0.27% of the total. Yet media attention focuses on it.
To put it into perspective the total number of overdose deaths involving heroin from 2002 to 2015 jumped 6.2-fold in the US. Automobiles killed around 32,000 people last year or a little over 2x that of heroin overdoses. When adding non-methadone opioids (illicit fentanyl) overdose that number surged to 20,000, a 33% YoY jump on 2014 and 5.9x 2002. Why is it happening? The problem for many prescription painkiller users is that once their bottle ends, the addiction doesn’t stop meaning many switch to heroin to get the same ‘opioid’ hit.
We armchair politicians can sit back and shake our heads at America. Yet until there is a will of the people to change the laws, expect more massacres to happen. Name an American politician that is willing to repeal 2A as a cornerstone election campaign policy. There is your answer. Will the Democrat nominees raise their hands for the repeal of 2A? Safer to raise hands at free healthcare for illegal immigrants. 2A is toxic to touch. Sadly innocent people are dying for no reason.
As for Alpine Shooting Range, it is doing the auld American thing of embracing capitalism within the law.
