Multiculturalism

Trump flips the bird at the self-loathing left

Just brilliant. Instead of cowering to the mob with political correctness, Trump announces he is building a national garden full of statues celebrating American heroes. Love really will “Trump” hate.

Liberal heads must be exploding. Basically the message to these self-loathing lefties pulling down monuments – I’m going to build a bigger memorial which unites America by displaying the country’s exceptionalism.

The softest part of any true patriotic American is a pride in its achievements, devotion to country and flag.

No doubt the left will criticize the people chosen to be erected on the basis of identity politics which in a sense shows that they really do like monuments after all.

Trump – master of the troll.

Are we witnessing sporting suicide?

People used to be able to watch sports in order to be able escape financial stress, relationship pressure, horrible bosses or politics for a couple of hours. Now politics comes as standard and is being actively shoved straight in paying customers’ faces.

The NBA has just announced it will paint “Black Lives Matter” on the courtside.

Retired NFL defensive end Marcellus Wiley explained why he thought it is a bad idea for the NBA to do it based on the divisive manifesto of BLM.

This follows on from the NFL’s pandering to identity politics and promotion of segregation by introducing a “black national anthem” before Week 1 games.

As one astute reader posted this with respect to the NFL post we wrote today,

If this causes a loss of attendance will the excuse be that those missing were therefore racist? And how does that help pay the bills? What will be the steps taken to address shortfalls in revenue ? Presumably reductions in salaries and jobs to those whose livelihood depends on the attendance?

This is a very emotive issue and no one is denying that it is not an important one but enforcing dictats onto paying customers is never a good idea – asking for help to change is better than demanding change and alienating a section of society who for the most part were already onside -you cannot force their cooperation – you will just make reasonable people unreasonable.

We think the NBA and NFL are making extremely poor decisions. As corporations they have that right but since when has treating customers with contempt been a good strategy?? Gillette anyone?

We wrote a piece on the divisive nature of sports being ruined by political activism a few weeks back.

1/6 BLM protestors are black

Pew Research notes in a recent survey that only 1/6 BLM protestors are black. Over 2/5 are white and 1/5 Hispanic. 79% self identify as Democrats. 17% as Republicans.

BET founder Robert Johnson claimed that,

white people have the mistaken assumption that black people are sitting around cheering for them saying ‘Oh, my God, look at these white people [tearing down statues]. They’re doing something so important for us…You know, black people, in my opinion, black people laugh at white people who do this the same way we laugh at white people who say we got to take off the TV shows….these actions are simply being done by white people to assuage their guilt. Why not ask us what we think first’?…It’s not going to give a kid whose parents can’t afford college money to go to college…”

Hence the Babylon Bee parody on whites speaking on behalf of blacks was so spot on earlier last week.

L’Oreal whitewashes 1,300 years of Japanese culture

L’Oreal is the latest company to fold to the cancel culture by removing removing the words white/whitening, fair/fairness, light/lightening from all its skin evening products. The cosmetics brand will still sell the creams which is basically as hypocritical as it gets.

If L’Oreal truly wanted to take a stand and put an end to systemic racism, it would dictate to its core customers that they need to check their bigotry and ban the creams as the tool to enforce correct behaviours.

The irony of skin whitening creams is that whites make up a tiny slice of users. Indeed Asian women make up the bulk of the buyers.

Did L’Oreal realize that during the Nara Period (710–94), Japanese women painted their face with a white powder called oshiroi? This was also documented in texts during the Heian Period (794–1185). White facial colour stood as a symbol of beauty then as it does today.

So that is to say the Japanese self-determined their own views on beauty over 1,300 years ago, before the country ever encountered “gaijin”, a name that came 500 years later when Kublai Khan tried to invade in the 13th Century.

You can learn more about the skin whitening cream market here. Note it also includes the wonderful success story of a black woman, Rachel Roff, who filled a gap in the market by targeting people of colour with products the racist (?) product developers at J&J never bothered to cater to because they deemed it uncommercial.

Never mind, you’ve been told by L’Oreal.

Cambridge Professor wants to abolish whiteness

It used to be a source of pride to say one graduated from Cambridge University.

Cambridge University’s Churchill College Professor Priyamvada Gopal’s used Twitter to say “White Lives Don’t Matter” and “abolish whiteness.

Gopal’s areas of study include gender and feminism, Marxism, critical race studies, and the politics and cultures of empire and globalization.

How does the dean tolerate the divisive radical professor?

We don’t have a problem with her free speech because her words speak for themselves. We question why the university tolerates faculty staff who bring the reputation of a prized tertiary institution into disrepute?

Even worse, she doubled down

One thing about white racists, the ones who are emailing & tweeting about my losing my job. It REALLY gets up their nose that Cambridge–which they see as theirs, their Properly White Institution–has me in its teaching ranks. Deeply triggering.

No, they care about the legacy of the institution. The university should seek to protect it regardless of the identity of the individual who made such thoughtless comments.

We shouldn’t be surprised at the deterioration in education standards. Who could forget the Stanford law professor, Pamela Karlan, who said during her testimony at the impeachment hearings that she crossed the street so she didn’t have to walk in front of Trump buildings.

When the left demand free education, we finally understand. If this is the standard, why drop a fortune on something that increasingly has no value?

Cambridge University’s reaction will be telling.

Here’s a dare to the left on cancel culture

If left wing politicians are so determined to pull down statues to appease the mob, we think they run with that as an election campaign promise listing all the bronze icons that are in play and put it to the people. If the majority are happy to make the change at the very least their voices will be heard.

Of course they won’t because these liberal politicians love to tell everyone else they know what’s good for them. You know, just like the master stroke of idly sitting by watching CHAZ develop.

If the left wing politicians really believed their own vision of utopia is universal the wave of virtue signaling white liberals should make such such an election policy a formality at the ballot box.

In a Time of Universal Deceit, Telling the Truth Is a Revolutionary Act

The activists demanding society changes to their version of a new world order are those least qualified to set the rules for the majority.

Gone are legal and democratic processes. Bypass all that. Topple statues, rewrite history and vilify anyone who wishes to have a civil discourse on how to make changes that benefit all, not just the few.

It is all too easy for those who have little clue of history to tell us about what the future should look like.

Who can blame them? No one is standing up to them.

Police officers taking knees despite not being guilty of any crimes themselves, corporates removing products they were happy to sell for decades on the basis it is now chic to make gushing virtue signaling PR releases to avoid censure and politicians who have been too weak to put anything meaningful on record. Gutless.

Where is the debate? Is this a society the plurality want? Activists riding roughshod over civility under the pretense of injustice is desirable? In other words, fight racism with more racism. Fight sexism with more sexism and protest violence with more violence against people completely unrelated to the cause. Cancel movies, sporting team chants and even comedy. They will tell you what is acceptable.

Decent people are prepared to accept improvements in society. They don’t see it achievable with defunded police, censorship or autonomous zones.

Perhaps CHAZ/CHOP is the perfect example of what the apparatchiks who scream the loudest, covet. For them, Day 1, Year 0 is a mission. Never mind the hypocrisy of everything it stands for. No police, rule by unelected warlords, mob violence with street administered kangaroo courts, demands for whites to compensate blacks and walls with strict immigration policies. That is not all of it. Everything they reject in a democratic society they endorse in CHAZ.

We are being led by cowards. The more our law makers and companies surrender to appeasing the mob, the more they are emboldened.

Like most decent people, we don’t need sanctimonious lectures from corporates, sporting bodies and law makers, many with sordid pasts, on how we should check our privileges and reflect on feeling guilty about things which don’t define us nor ever given a thought.

Yet this is what is happening. Complete submission to a fringe minority who use threats an intimidation to foster change. Who knew shaving required lectures on toxic masculinity? Who knew skin whitening cream was inappropriate despite pale skin being desirable in certain cultures for centuries before people of other races were even known about? Everything is at risk of appropriation.

No thanks.

We’ll continue to make noise in full knowledge we will be the first to be locked up in a new world order because “In a Time of Universal Deceit — Telling the Truth Is a Revolutionary Act.”

#BlackSkinMatters. J&J caves to the cancel culture mob

Now J&J is dumping hand whitening cream after social pressure surrounding racial inequality.

Perhaps sunscreen and tanning lotions should be banned by the company too? After all, those who want a darker complexion must be just as guilty of dermatological appropriation.

Or is J&J’s move really just a cynical attempt by the legal and PR departments to appear as a good corporate citizen amidst a criminal probe into whether the pharma giant lied to the public about the possible cancer risks of its talcum powder?

Also, did J&J ever think of the demand from similar products for coloured women?

Urban Rx deliberately targeted this space because of an absence of products tailored to their needs. Perhaps J&J should self-flagellate for not catering this area and apologize for racially insensitive product developers. Publicly sack them to appease the mob. Black Skin Matters.

Forbes says sales for UrbanRx are booming.

Urban Rx Founder Rachel Roff opened a spa in Charlotte, North Carolina 12 years ago and found that although 50% of the women in the south are African-American, Roff could not find products that provided adequate skin care for women with darker skin. Over time she developed a skincare technology she calls Cleartone Advanced Technology…Although she still operates the spa, that business is dwarfed by the skincare business, which continues to grow very rapidly.

See a need. Fill a need. We hope Roff continues to do well. After all, if coloured women care about removing blemishes surely they have exactly the same requirements as women of other skin tones. It isn’t racist. It is a choice.

Skin whitening products are extremely popular in Asian and Middle Eastern markets. Perhaps J&J should launch a targeted ad campaign shaming c.70% of the world’s female population for their dermatological privilege.

According to Grandview Research , the global skin lightening products market size was valued at US$ 8.3 billion in 2018 and a CAGR of 7.8%pa.

Didn’t J&J’s PR department study what happened to P&G when it targeted ‘toxic masculinity’ via the Gillette brand which wiped $8 billion in value?

From our perspective, J&J products are off our list. We never ask anyone to boycott companies but we are sick of being lectured to by sanctimonious businesses who want to morally preen.

These brands are totally within their rights to make commercial decisions about product lines.

However they don’t have an obligation to tell customers that their personal preferences with respect to hygiene, skincare or anything else are not in step with the times, especially in cultures that hold different views about beauty which are often centuries old.

Japanese skin whitening giants Shiseido and KOSÉ will be loving such corporate harakiri by J&J. J&J shareholders won’t.

Get woke, go broke.

Who knew? Atlanta Police push back & call in sick

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has acknowledged that police morale is “down ten-fold.”

Who knew? If the Atlanta Police feel scapegoated by its leaders, why is it a surprise that dozens of officers are calling in sick or refusing to leave their precincts?

The Fulton County DA has effectively ensured that a fair trial against officer Garrett Rolfe, charged with a felony murder of Rayshard Brooks, isn’t on the cards.

Why would Atlanta Police officers want to put themselves in harms way when the DA seems keen on hosting a kangaroo court?

The death of Brooks was avoidable. Had he not resisted arrest and not pointed a taser – ironically classified as a deadly weapon by the DA – at Rolfe he would be alive today.

Brooks had been released on parole due to COVID19 after serving a prison term for child assault. He was caught and arrested for DUI. Presumably he didn’t want to go back to prison. Perhaps he might have taken more responsibility given his new found freedom. That doesn’t make him any less worthy of life. Let’s be clear.

That also doesn’t automatically exonerate Rolfe but the media and public are not experts in what law enforcement officers are allowed to do in carrying out their duty.

If Officer Rolfe openly violated internal protocols then justice ought to be dispensed by the book. If he didn’t break any of the existing rules then the DA has no place inventing his own interpretation to ensure a guilty verdict because it is fitting for the times.

That seems to be what is at stake.

If Rolfe’s actions are no longer deemed to be an acceptable use of force then the regulations need to be changed, not make an honest cop who abided by his training into an example for political point scoring.

No wonder the Atlanta PD is feeling marginalized. Who could blame them?

Welcome to CHAZ – viral tourist video
