Trump is 100% correct with this Exec Order against Twitter et al

While the mainstream media will howl in protest, Trump has made it very clear to social media companies with this executive order – YOU DECIDE.

Trump is merely saying is that if these companies wish to keep a liability shield in place, they need to abide by the neutrality of the service provision which was always the spirit of the law. They flaunted it and now opened a Pandora’s Box all by themselves.

Simply put, Twitter, Google, Facebook and others were getting away with murder. Censorship by its very nature dictates pushing political and social views on others. What a wonderful loophole it was to push political agendas with zero legal repercussions.

Google was busted after a video featuring senior management discussing plans after the 2016 election went viral. There is such chronic bias as much as they plead innocence. Ask yourself why your phone seems to populate ads on your webpages based on searches?

Twitter has censored more conservatives than we can list. To Twitter, it is not the principle but the side that matters.

Ultimately Trump has told them they are at liberty to run their businesses how they choose. Unfortunately, if they go down the path they have freely chosen they live by the new rules which are completely appropriate.

POTUS is 100% correct but watch the mainstream media meltdown. Zuckerberg, at the very least, gets it. Dorsey is too Trump deranged to know better. Trump also added that the government would be pulling the billions of dollars it gives social media platforms now that they want to actively push their own agenda.

Once again – the message is “YOU DECIDE”

Mirror, mirror on the wall who has the fairest tweets of all

No sooner had the threats from Trump to change the legislation around social media platforms, Twitter doubled down on its fact checking.

In what looked far more like a quest to show it was impartial, Twitter decided to treat its users as idiots.

It fact checked a photo of Derek Chauvin, a now former Minneapolis police officer involved in the inexcusable death of George Floyd, for a doctored photo showing him wearing a red MAGA baseball cap. Does Twitter think people can’t work out a tasteless photoshop?

The other notable fact check was a tweet from Zhao Lijian, a spokesman for China’s foreign ministry who made the audacious claim that the coronavirus outbreak may have begun in the US and planted in China by the U.S. military.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey took exception to comments made by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg who realized what may be coming. Facebook’s chief said,

I just believe strongly that Facebook shouldn’t be the arbiter of truth of everything that people say online.

Dorsey rebuffed these statements with,

[fact-checking] does not make us an ‘arbiter of truth’…Our intention is to connect the dots of conflicting statements and show the information in dispute so people can judge for themselves.”

Was Twitter to fairly dispense consistency and fact check the unverified rubbish inserted into many of the 500 million tweets made every day it couldn’t afford the hall monitoring costs.

The truth is simpler. If Twitter was forced by an independent ‘arbiter of truth’ to examine its own political bias in the mirror it would never seek to go down the path of fact-checking period.

Dopey, Doc, Bashful, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, Sneezy and Snow White should be free to exercise their own intellectual curiosity instead of letting the Wicked Witch of the Left try to influence their thought.

As we pointed out yesterday, when the head of Twitter’s integrity department has such glaringly questionable ethics is it any wonder that the rest of us don’t need to take a “byte” of his poisoned apples sold as Twitter magic.

Doubling down against Trump won’t make Twitter the fairest of them all. Not by half. Unless you believe in fairytales.

NB. Fact Not Fiction Media apologises for any harm caused to vertically challenged cartoon characters.

The best description of Twitter ever

yoelroth

If anyone wants to be informed, Twitter is one of the least likely platforms to find it. A fair and neutral playground marshalled by an unbiased hall monitor? Pfffft. We have included the best description of Twitter ever at the end. First some context.

Twitter updated its new rules on May 11th, 2020 vis-a-vis fact-checking and integrity. Of course, the platform, like YouTube and Facebook, decides what it deems appropriate. Who could forget when Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg testified before the Senate that Silicon Valley – where most of the tech world is headquartered – is “an extremely left-leaning place” and the evidence shows what side of politics gets fact-checked.

Twitter’s Head of Site Integrity, Yoel Roth (@yoyoel) is an avid anti-Trumper. Several days after the 2016 election he proudly tweeted, “I’m just saying, we fly over those states that voted for a racist tangerine for a reason.” We should sleep soundly at night that he also referred to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell as “a personality-free bag of farts.” Surely there is no risk of conservative bias with the integrity team at Twitter…sleep soundly.

Recall the time The NY Times hired Sarah Jeong who had tweeted “Cancel White People” among a laundry list of crude bile. Twitter did nothing despite being exposed and the newspaper endorsed her hire regardless (she has since been let go). Black conservative, Candace Owens exchanged the words “white” for “Jewish” and “Black” and was swiftly suspended.

We wrote yesterday of our amusement that Twitter chose to use a brazenly anti-Trump media outlet like CNN, which has been regularly caught lying to fact-check the president. How amusing it was to hear White House Counsel Kellyanne Conway tell reporters how the media has no problems immediately retweeting items without a second’s thought to verifying.

Stephen Fry perhaps made the most accurate description of the social media site a few years back.

It’s no big deal – as it shouldn’t be. But yes, for anyone interested I have indeed deactivated my Twitter account…It’s quite simple really: the room had started to smell. Really quite bad.

Oh goodness, what fun Twitter was in the early days, a secret bathing-pool in a magical glade in an enchanted forest. It was glorious ‘to turn as swimmers into cleanness leaping.’ We frolicked and water-bombed and sometimes, in the moonlight, skinny-dipped. We chattered and laughed and put the world to rights and shared thoughts sacred, silly and profane. But now the pool is stagnant. It is frothy with scum, clogged with weeds and littered with broken glass, sharp rocks and slimy rubbish. If you don’t watch yourself, with every move you’ll end up being gashed, broken, bruised or contused. Even if you negotiate the sharp rocks you’ll soon feel that too many people have peed in the pool for you to want to swim there any more. The fun is over.

To leave that metaphor, let us grieve at what Twitter has become. A stalking ground for the sanctimoniously self-righteous who love to second-guess, to leap to conclusions and be offended – worse, to be offended on behalf of others they do not even know. It’s as nasty and unwholesome a characteristic as can be imagined. It doesn’t matter whether they think they’re defending women, men, transgender people, Muslims, humanists … the ghastliness is absolutely the same. It makes sensible people want to take an absolutely opposite point of view. I’ve heard people shriek their secularism in such a way as to make me want instantly to become an evangelical Christian…

The Right has no problem with the Left’s free speech

The Left misses the point every time. Conservatives don’t wish for Clementine Ford’s free speech to be curtailed or reined in at all. On the contrary. We think her comments speak for themselves. This comment was far from her worst. She is proud of her “potty mouth” as her Twitter handle boasts.

We find it utterly contemptible that the City of Melbourne’s Lord Mayor Sally Capp didn’t stand up and send a message by cancelling the grant funded by ratepayers. Instead she said it couldn’t be undone and expressed it only as, “deliberately divisive and incredibly unhelpful.

While Ford walked back her comments with a ‘sorry, not sorry‘ tweet, had a man written “honestly, the corona virus isn’t killing women fast enough” the grant would have been rescinded immediately and the individual raked over coals for weeks.

The hypocrisy of the left is astounding. Recall soon to be retiring conservative radio personality Alan Jones who told NZ PM Ardern to “shove a sock down her throat“. We pointed out the sanctimony of brands like Koala who pulled advertising on the grounds that Jones didn’t reflect their values while at the same time had Clem Ford run a mattress campaign for them. It’s not the principle that matters but the side.

So please Clementine, tell us what you think always. Men aren’t triggered by such ridiculous empty rhetoric. They just find it appalling that the people entrusted to administer ratepayer funds can’t summon up the courage to practice the most basic level of governance and send a message that they have standards they hold ALL people to.

#YouAintBlack backlash

Videos are already circling social media slamming the ignorant, condescending and insulting remarks made by Joe Biden. Black conservatives Allen B. West, John James and Sen. Tim Scott, as well as others like Y.G. Nyghtstorm, took Biden to task on his record.

There are many ways to connect with the black voter. Biden will no doubt have reached all of them with this viral comment. Perhaps not in a way that will lock in the black vote for the Democrats.

Note Candace Owens has been actively pushing the #Blexit movement in America which she calls the awakening of black people who leave the Democratic “plantation.” Watch how she slams the Democrat narrative in a hearing on hate crime. Or the time she tore strips off three liberal academics debating her on white supremacy as the root cause of problems in the black community.

Not to miss out on the gaffe, the Trump campaign has capitalized on Joe Biden’s remarks selling #YouAintBlack t-shirts for $30.

Kayleigh McEnany helps deranged WH press corps to do their jobs properly

Trump’s new Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is doing such a great job with the White House press corps. In this video clip she turns their lack of journalistic integrity back on them by providing a list of questions to pique their curiosity about #Obamagate instead of letting them indulge in their favorite pastime of creating false narratives.

Way to go, Joe! If you vote for Trump, “you ain’t black”

Joe Biden just keeps the gaffes going.

On Friday morning the former VP said, that if black Americans are unsure whether to support him over Trump in the November 2020 election, “then you ain’t black.

Such is the scourge of identity politics within the ranks of the Democrats that Biden is not the only one to think that minorities aren’t entitled to individual thought. Democrat Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (of The Squad) infamously said during the Trump “shith*le country” saga,

We don’t need any more brown faces that don’t want to be a brown voice. We don’t need black faces that don’t want to be a black voice. We don’t need Muslims that don’t want to be a Muslim voice. We don’t need queers that don’t want to be a queer voice.

How quickly The Squad (AOC, Pressley, Tlaib and Omar) denounced America’s treatment of minorities when it was that very system that enabled them to attain public office at the highest level.

Essentially, they hold on to the tenet of telling constituents to shut up and conform to the stereotype of their minority status so it can be exploited. Funny how the supposedly racist Trump has done more for black Americans in economic and employment terms before the pandemic than any Democrat preceding him.

Biden, Pressley and other like them behave like the very racists they condemn.

Biden later apologized on a call with the Black Chamber of Commerce, “I should not have been so cavalier. I’ve never, never, ever taken the African-American community for granted…I shouldn’t have been such a wise guy.”
