Being less worse isn’t an election strategy

On the day of Trump’s 2016 election win, we said that the best thing he will do for America is show people their vote matters. Alas the turnout for this election is on course to shatter records of the past century.

We have to say there is a growing trend of politics where opposition parties campaign on the basis of being “less worse” than the incumbent.

Take Canada. PM Justin Trudeau was mired in ethics scandals and virtue signaling throughout his first term. The Conservatives should have nailed him in the most recent election but alas they campaigned on why Trudeau was bad rather than focusing on why they were by far the superior alternative. Alas, Trudeau won a second term, albeit losing seats.

Take Queensland. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has incompetence stamped all over her last term. Weak leadership, flippy-floppy positions on coal, scandal-clad debacles surrounding COVID and her team, double standards regarding movie stars being allowed to quarantine but children from non infected areas being unable to attend the funeral of their father. Still, she won. Why? The LNP coalition didn’t offer any palpable credible alternative as to why they were so much better. It wasn’t a hard task, yet they fluffed it.

So to Trump.

Few politicians have ever polarized like the 45th president. Yet what does Joe Biden offer? Negatives! Every word that parses his lips is rearward looking. We have to learn to die with COVID! WTF? Where are the messages of hope and solid strategy from a 5-decade politician and twice failed presidential nominee? He typifies the politician America rejected in 2016.

In a time of COVID, people want reassurance their livelihoods are going to get back on track without the risk of another lockdown. They don’t want to hear their industry will be regulated out of existence. They don’t want to hear energy costs will rise. Businesses don’t want to try to recover with the idea a minimum wage hike limiting options.

Over 50% of America is employed by small-medium sized enterprise. These are the businesses hurting. Economy matters and Trump was delivering before COVID19.

Alss, we think the biggest issue on the table is the test of American patriotism. Many Americans are sick of being labeled for things they haven’t done or thought. They’re sick of seeing statues torn down, tired of innocent people getting harassed by activists in restaurants, shops or home. They’re tired of the cops being vilified. They’re sick of woke celebrities and sport stars stuffing political messages in their faces knowing that a Biden victory won’t affect their rent-a-cop gated mansion lifestyles one iota. It is so easy to show empty gestures. They bear no price.

Trump was a by-product of decades of failed administrations. They gave birth to him. The voting public knew he was never going to be a polished gem. Yet he was sent to blow up a system. Anyone who thought a NY property mogul would be a clean shirt were kidding themselves.

So when voters make their choice, they can look at 4 years of an opposition party who hasn’t accepted the last result with a negative platform! Hey, we’re less worse than Trump rather than we’re the best alternative and here is why! Come to think of it, can anyone name any positive policies from Biden?

Higher taxes, hiked minimum wages, shuttered oil industries, green power and a polished version of the failed Obamacare.

Just the things a suffering voter wants to hear while under the jackboot of financial hardship thanks to despotic governors and mayors.

Trump for the win.
