Sheriffs give Oregon Gov Brown two words. One of them was “off”

This is what happens when cops push back on the very politicians who have advocated to hobble them. Basically politicians can’t have it both ways.

So encouraging to see this pushback so soon after the mayor of Nisswa was arrested by his own police department.

Oregon Governor Kate Brown (Democrat) has finally decided she needs to do something to combat the lawlessness in Portland after 90 days of unrest. We thought it virtually impossible to be more incompetent than Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan and her acceptance of the “summer of love” in CHAZ. Brown has outdone her.

To her surprise, both the Washington County and Clackamas County sheriffs have refused to send deputies to help the Portland PD to quell the violence.

It is not that they don’t want to help their fellow brothers and sisters in law enforcement. They see Brown’s policies as too high risk. The Oregon Association of Chiefs of Police offered more context with,

Unfortunately, due to the lack of support for public safety operations, the associated liability to agencies who would be assisting in Portland and the lack of accountability for those arrested committing criminal acts, we cannot dedicate our limited resources away from the communities we serve.

When local and state Democrat leaders have slammed police officers for months as racists and sought to defund departments while tying the hands of police officers to not to get involved in quelling the riots, forgive them for pushing back when the tables turn.

Gov Brown has been among the most despotic governors during lockdown. She even called child protective services on a hair salon owner for reopening her store to help feed the families of her staff. The owner also risked having her lease terminated.

You reap what you sow.
