Rasmussen – GOP vs Dems re Police

Rasmussen Reports has put out a poll on how the presidential candidates identify on the side of the police. No real surprise at the results.

66% of Likely U.S. Voters believe Trump identifies more with the police in violent protests situations. Just 11% think he identifies more with the protesters, while 15% say he tries to be impartial…

…By contrast, 60% believe most national Democratic leaders like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi identify more with the protesters in violent protest situations. Only 8% feel they identify more with the police. 23% think they try to be impartial…

…55% of voters think most reporters identify with the protesters in violent protest situations. Just 5% say most reporters identify more with the police, but 30% believe most try to be impartial…While 77% of Republicans and 54% of unaffiliateds think most reporters identify with the protesters in violent protests situations, only 37% of Democrats agree.

51% of voters believe government policies and practices encourage violent crime in some cities and states more than others. Just 24% disagree, while another 24% are undecided…But 66% of all Americans oppose reducing the police budget in the community where they live…61% believe violent crime will go up in communities that defund the police.”
