Follow the money. It looks as if the Maldives will create 18,672 jobs as Minister of Tourism Ali Waheed revealed government plans to allocate 29 islands for resort development.
The 13,720 new beds created won’t be big enough to host a UN COP summit but at the very least a famous climate alarmist should be invited to cut the ribbon. We can probably rule out environmental activist Leo DiCaprio as he has his own island resort in Belize.
One imagines the Maldives will be inundated by tourists well before rising sea levels.
